    congratulations fishcake, lovely pics.
Courgette- I am the same now with baby sex, got my scan this friday and definitely dont want to know. I did up until last episode of one born every minute. The girl knew what she was having and when they said "its a boy" after he was born she was just like "yeah" i thought its a bit anti-climax!! did want to know before as i think it will be much easier to buy stuff.

CAFGirl - me too. I think the baby's moved into a funny position, so i can't get comfortable - seems like there's no room left for my ribs and my lungs, and i've been feeling very sorry for myself!:( Could have done with being looked after today, but OH spent most of the day sleeping off the hangover from hell. Think he feels bad though, coz he keeps offering to make me tea and promising to take me out on Friday night to celebrate the start of my maternity leave! Hope you feel better soon.

Bexta, i know some people find it a bit wierd, but i love seeing my bump wriggling - usually in the evening. Little one seems to have hiccups about 5 times a day, though, so more often than not i just sit and watch my belly wobbling along.:D

Absolutely knackered today. Think i might go to bed and read. Sleep well ladies and bumps!

Once I was moved to the maternity ward with some other sectioned ladies I am aware of how brutal they can be, some woman were barely out of bed 4-5 days later and I was sat in a chair after 5 hours and walking in 12. Allthough don't get me wrong I still need some painkillers!!!!

Some people simply do not react to the induction drugs.. including my sister and me.

Those ladies that are too pathetic to get out of bed REALLY annoy the staff.. They simply don't try!

I've had 3 emergency sections.. first one DD3's heart stopped at 5am, I lost huge amounts of bood and hadn't had my innards stitched back together.. I had 2 paracetamol they forced down my throat, Hb of 5.1 and was out of bed in the shower after 6 hours (first occasion it was free) and walking down to scbu in 6.5.. there was one woman who dropped her baby out of the hospital bed!! and another one who just laid there moaning and groaning.. The MW said she wished she was allowed to tell them to shut up and get a grip!! lol.. My second section I had 2 contractions and my innards were ripped to shreds. I almost bled to death and DD4 has cerebral palsy. My third section due to staff incompetance as usual was far less trouble. I had no pain relief after either of the second two was out of bed within 2 hours. I was in more discomfort from my 'quilting' when I had DS1, had episiotomy and tore right through to my bowel!

If I had to have another section, God forbid!.. due to problems with the baby, there would never be an occasion where I would opt for it.. I would discharge both myself and the baby (unless it was unwell) as soon as I was able to stand.

  • Congratulations Fishcake!!! You're the first from our due date to go!! I'm so jealous!! Just want baby here now and all the 'side effects' to P off!!!

Bexta - i love watching my belly wriggle! I've taken video of it on my phone when its been really mental! Sad I know, but i've not taken any actual bump pics, so those are my records of bump.

Got mw at 12.30 today so wont be around much. Bit grey outside compared to the weekend, hoping the rain stays off!

Have a great day everyone, mo x

Hi guys I am 34 weeks pregnant with baby 3 and I am feeling really panicky about the birth this time. I never felt like this the other times and I don't know if it is down to the horrible experience I had last time with medical negligence and general incompetence at the hospital or if it is hormones. Also I have just had the babies growth measured and they have predicted 5kg which is 11lbs . This seems much too big my last baby was 8lb 9 and I had terrible tears with her into the muscles and parts of me had to be reattached!

Has anyone else had a big baby after a normal sized one and does it make that much difference? Should I ask to see a consultant about being induced early, at the moment I am under the care of the named midwife that sees you at home but she is on holiday.

Hiya hun, yup been there done that - my previous posts:

Awww try not to worry hun (difficult I know), I was cut and still tore nastily with the first (8lb 2) one, had a zillion stitches and took ages to heal. However somehow got away with just a smallish tear with the huge babe (10lb 9) that they didn't even stitch and healed really quickly. She was much easier to get out too so bigger doesn't have to mean worse, honest. :)

last one was 10lb 9. First one was only 8lb 2 but then she was nearly 2 weeks early. This one is on the 98th centile already, he was 5lb at a 33 week growth scan (tbh with him being a boy as well I won't be shocked to break the 11lb barrier!).

No diabetes and I'm not big, no one can give me a reason other than 'you just have big babies' - well duh LOL!

I've actually got the midwife today so I'll let you know if you like but she was saying something last time about inducing me at 40 weeks if little man hasn't arrived by then. :)

Yay, bubs is 24 weeks old today! I keep freaking myself out by thinking in 16 weeks I'm going to have a baby. Bizarrely, it's still an abstract concept, although one of my colleagues says she still can't believe she had a baby - and hers recently turned 23!
