aw, you've all got super bumps! not that you look huge, but am very jealous. Being a big girl anyway (size 24) I'm really not showing much at all & people are really shocked when I say I've got 12 weeks to go! :(

He's definately there though - am presently getting a good kicking ;)

does anyone know whether I should be able to get another mat1 from the midwife, my boss needs it but I sent the one I got off to get my maternity grant

oh and am I team blue on the EDD list now? I can't find one to look at. thanks!
  • Morning. Or should i say good afternoon considering half of you guys have been here all night! Oh its rotten not getting to sleep - apparently my trying to get comfy is preventing dh from sleeping so he knows what its like - so far i'm still sleeping ok but it is getting harder!

Got to ring physio in the morning and make an appointment as i've been referred by the mw, does anyone know what they actually do at physio? I'm going about my hip/pelvic pain and don't really know what to expect?
I'm really happy today...my fantastic mum has offered to buy us a car!!! I'm so grateful as i'm totally fed up of having to walk everywhere lol

Luce - I had an appointment with physios here cos i was getting really sore pelvis. They do group sessions here which i found quite good cos you can all share your experiences, what works, what doesn't, that kind of thing. They explained what it was and why it happens and then showed us some exercises to do to try and stabilise the pelvis when you're doing stuff like getting up from chair/out of bed/getting down into chair etc. I found it really interesting and am doing most of things so thats really helped. Definately worth a visit if you're sore.
That's great about the car - i totally need to learn to drive after bubs is here!

Has anyone got anyone making stuff for them or making stuff themselves? I've always been quite an arty person, but I cannot knit or barely sew! I would love to make something for the baby, anyone have any suggestions on easy ways to learn?!!?
That's great about the wee outfit - my aunt is knitting some cardi's for me in bigger sizes as i've still gt the ones she made in little sizes for my other two! I'm currently crocheting a blanket for the pram - been at it for about 9months now though! lol But, i've finished my thankyou cards - have made about 20 so they're just ready to sign and pop into envelopes if or when people give us stuff - also, folk have given us loads already so their cards are written and ready to go!

Lauz - is this your first baby? I'm a 24 as well and no one knew i was pregnant with my first - didn't show the whole time and people were seriously surprised when i started walking about pushing a pram! lol
With my second, i lost a bit of weight early in pg cos of morning sickness so did show a bit but nothing like the photos on here and again people on the whole didn't know i was pg, prob just thought i'd put on more weight!
However, this is my third - and i am huge!!!!!!! Bump wise, i mean. I havent taken any photos tho so nothing to put up but have had proper bump since about 5 months or so and i met up with some friends last nite who've known me through all my pregnancies and they were totally shocked at the size of me!!!!.

I reckon if you explain to mw about the matb1 they should be able to give you another, they're just on a tear off pad so i dont imagine it should be a problem.

Well, I've got the midwife this afternoon, that's me 37+3 and desparate for this to be over!!! Does anyone know when they start to do internals to check cervix etc? Sorry, TMI coming up - but hubby reckons i feel 'different in there' and i'm hoping mw can shed some light on it! :rotfl:

well, have a great day ladies,
Labour vibes to Som, gymfiend, kindof and fishcake

Been to hosp, contrcgtions were resally painful and strong, but I am only 2cms :( so sent home, told to go back when they are stronger, they !!!!ing kill I must be a wuss, I am so tired as well but cant sleep, well I can but then a contraction wakes me up

Hello all - OH here - Feeling pretty useless at the moment, all I can do to help is rub rach's back a bit, which she says is helping but it doesn't feel like I'm doing much. Nothing I've read in literature or the internet so far has prepared me for the sheer frustration of 'this part' of the pregnancy. Also I'm angry at the hospital midwives for actually saying 'how long's a piece of string' (which is double the length from one side to the middle btw...) which didn't bloody help at all. Grr.

Welcome Gena! How far along are you?

Had a phone call off MIL tonight, apparently she's already started knitting, she's basically made an outfit; hat, cardigan, mittens, and booties!! Very sweet. Just need to pick her up some more wool as she hasnt got transport to get out.

Has anyone got anyone making stuff for them or making stuff themselves? I've always been quite an arty person, but I cannot knit or barely sew! I would love to make something for the baby, anyone have any suggestions on easy ways to learn?!!?

I learnt to crochet when I fell pregnant. My mum showed me the basics and then I have used tutorial videos on youtube to learn some more. But it's very simple and I think you could pick it up through the vids on there no problem. So far I have made 3 blankets. My mum is crocheting some outfits for me and I have my nan who has knitted a couple of cardigans for me too. :)

Kindof's OH as long as you are there for her and doing what she asks you will do a great job. Make sure you are upto date with the birth plan you may be asked things if Kindof is to out of it at the time.

Kindof Yay for being 2cm Boo for sending you home and not being able to do anything to ease the pain but at least you now know you arent in pain for nothing and something is deffinately happening.

Goodluck to you both :-) xx

Edit: just had a thought have you asked if you can take co-codamol or it may be codene im sure they give it to you in hospital in early labour and it is slightly stronger than paracetomol it may be worth a phone call to find out :-)
