I work in a team related to the social work teams around the area and I've heard some really terrible ones, though obviously couldn't mention them because of the work connection. I did read somewhere though that there is at least one poor child in the USA with the name "chlamydia"! A colleague of mine also said that she heard that someone wanted to, but thankfully didn't, call their child "placenta" after hearing the "pretty word" in hospital:rotfl:
It's also awful when people give their child a name that doesn't suit or has connotations of someone that looks entirely the opposite. i.e. the young, very blonde and very white little girl a friend of a friend saw in a shop. Her mum shouted over to her "oi Beyonce, get over here!"0 -

Can I join? I had my nuchal scan and dating scan today, although bubs was misbehaving and had to go in twice in order to see all of baby and to do the measurements. Put both hands up at the screen like was saving a goal - bless!
They have said my due date is 18/09, which is one day before DH's birthday and 7 days after mine - will be a busy month!
Big labour vibes to those that need it - hope you all see your babies soon.
congratulations! You have the same birthday as my sister...she was 21 that year! I think you're quite near me too...was your scan at kings?Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

Jopsey - Lizzie is cute but don't worry you have 6 weeks after the birth to decide on a name. Neither of my children suited their pre-chosen names and had no names for a week! I have no idea what baby 3 will be called I will just see what she looks like when she arrives!0

CAFC, Landon's a really nice name. It's cute for when he's a lil 'un, but lovely for when he's grown up. If you're not really into name shortening (some people are against) it doesn't seem like a name that can be shortened either. What does OH think?
Esio - thanks for that. I probably do walk fairly quickly but only cos I hate getting stuck behind people. If I'm going somewhere I get really impatient. I might mention to midwife when I see her on Thursday though.
Thats what I thought... At a push I figured it might get shortened to Andy... but thats a real push...
OH is ok with it. I told him the consensus on here was Landon :rotfl:
Som - I wanted a L name as a sort of token to my Dad, as his middle name will be my grandads middle name (who passed away just before we found out about bab).... and I do love my Dadbut I just dont like his name that much LOL
Logan is nice, but it just doesnt seem to flow as well with the other names we'll be having :AWealth is not measured by currency0 -

Thanks, I'll be 31 when bubs is due not 21!! No not at Kings I went to the Mayday in Croydon (or as my DH keeps refering to it the MayDie) They were really nice and friendly, actually went in before my appointment time. Was funny as she couldn't see bubs properly to do the measurement for the neck fold and made a comment that all the babies today were being naughty as was a Monday
When is your scan Rach?Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces
