    Afternoon ladies

Thanks for being lovely, had a much better day today. I even plucked up the courage to tell the headmaster I'm pg, turned out 'a little bird' had already told him! But glad that's over and done with.

Nene in some cultures they don't cut the cord at all, they just carry the placenta around with the baby until it withers and drops off and few days later. Some cultures mum eats it. My friend's mum buried hers on the allotment. Takes all sorts doesn't it :rotfl:

One of my year 11s is pregnant and she kept having a sneaky peak of her purple book in lesson and some of the other girls were talking to her about it all. Was the best I could do to carry on teaching and not pull up a chair and talk babies for an hour :rotfl::rotfl:

Nikkit Thomas is lovely, aren't new born babies the cutest thing :A

EA good luck if this is you gearing up. When I was about to have my DS I was on the loo constantly, erm 'getting rid' of every little thing in my bowel including the biscuit I'd just eaten. Just thought I'd share :rotfl:

Maybe you could speak to your head of year and/or her parents to ask if they'd like you to give her any extra help and support as you're going through it too?

That would probably be very reassuring for her, because she knows you and sees you a lot so she would be able to ask for any help she needs?

I had DD1 at 17 and the only person who really helped me was a sixth form teacher who'd had a baby at 16 and knew what I was going through, I was so grateful for her advice!

Later on though, after I left 6th form no one really explained much to me and I know I would have appreciated someone I knew talking to me about it all, labour birth, when to rest etc because it was such a confusing time :(

    Sorry, I've rambled on! :o

Delain, you've not rambled on and it's a good idea. I've been thinking about it myself in fact. I've not said anything to any students yet because I hadn't told the head but now that I have I think I'll see how I can offer her help. Poor girl, she's due around exam time so if she's not careful she could easily leave school without any qualifications

Thank you. That's the sort of reaction I want, rather than friends telling me I'm silly. Death Eaters at our local forest! How cool is that!

Courgette that would be a lovely thing to do - I'm sure at her age she'd appreciate the guidance :)

LMF hope the back pain/period cramping is the start of something for you.

Can't believe Lily is measuring 37 weeks EA - weren't you measuring more than that at like 33 weeks?! Good news though - hopefully means she's v engaged so not much of her head can be felt :D

Kindof yep it's the green book, not sure where I've put it now, will have to hunt it down & have a read!

Don't envy your Tesco trip at all Som!!

OH has just got in from work & has decided we're off out for dinner :D Woohoo!

Only thing i found hard was fitting all the cups of tea in i would advise adding vimpto to it as i couldnt stand the taste without it and if you find it really bad you can get raspberry leaf tablets :-)

Hopefully the parents and thhe exam board etc could come up with some arrangements for her to sit them later, like resits, they did this for one of my friends who was in a car accident and in hospital over the exam period. If she has had the baby will her parents babysit for her so she can do the exams?

I would say go for it, wish I had had someone like you!

You might find after she's left school and the baby is born she will stay in touch with you, which would be nice for her, its horrible being on your own with a baby at that age, you really find out who your friends are when you can't go out anymore :(
