Hi Sidekick, my gp appt only took about 5 mins and he gave me a rough idea of how far gone he thought I was, he gave me a list of things not to eat and asked me to book in with the midwife. I think that was about it!! I dont think they generally do test you again as the home tests are so good now and I think the same as what they would use anyway. Hope this helps!!Baby Toby born 17th Nov 09 :j0

Sidekick, it depends on where you are in the country, but normally the doctor will just take your word for it and refer you to the midwife. I had to fill in some forms and was given the Emma's Diary book too.

i sk, if it was like my gp , i said i am prenant , from a positive preg test , he said congratulations, book in for midwife , and ill see you soon , but everywhere is different , they dont usually do BT , they just go by your word, the MW will do bp, bt , weight etc on your first booking in with herDont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec0

if they go by my word i'm going to have to spend another £10 and do another test because i still can't believe it :-( i also want a scan before I fly to Australia on Dec 3rd...do you think this is possible? Would I have to go private?0

you get a 12 week one , so it all depends if youe hospital has spaces , looks like you may need to go private to be guaranteed the dateDont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec0

^ I'll have to go private because there is no way in hell anyone (including me) will know how far along I am until I get a scan.
This is all rubbish0 -
But if you tell the Dr you have no idea how far along you are you may be able to get a scan sooner rather than later. Tell them the furthest you think you could be and see what they say.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0

SK, I believe there are some pregnancy tests that will tell you how far along you are. I haven't used them, so I don't know a lot about them, although they may not be that reliable, it could give you a bit more of an idea than you have now.

I'm thinking I'll tell them my last period was time time early September. Although in all honesty I can't recall a period since glastonbury festival in June - but i know i've had periods after that I just can't remember when. If I say early Sept that'll be 2 months gone and hopefully i'll get a scan in the next couple weeks. Thanks0

SK , can you not do the clear blue digital preg test , it will tell you how far gone you are ???Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec0
