Right I am sooo p***ed off. Phoned the Pandemic flu line like they tell you to and the bloke rattled off the questions so fast not actually sure what I answered, anyway he says at the end yep LO has swine flu...phone drs for appt. So I phone drs and they dont want to know as telephone bloke has given me a number for Tamiflu. She says any queries call them back which I do and ask to go through my answers again. "nope cant do that you have been issued number to get medicine thats it". So call NHS direct to ask their advice... told "well we are really busy so what do you actually want? ummm some advice re whether to get Tamiflu or not? Cant do that look on the website"
So I go to Chemist where have to pick up Tamiflu and speak to Pharmacist... he makes most sense of all and says that this doesnt actually cure swine flu and symptoms sound just like normal flu... so in
the end I've opted for getting some more Calpol and will keep an eye on him.... does this make me a bad mother for not getting the Tamiflu...... plus no one has been in touch at all re me having vaccination !!! Grrr:mad:Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -

Have you looked on the Special Occasions board... theres the Hampers thread and loads of other ideas on there.

Maz we all had, what I am pretty sure was swine flu...I used to work in a pharmacy so gave a pharmacist friend a call and even they told me that most people who get swine flu just get usual flu like symptoms and Tamiflu reduces the length of the illness by a day, two if your lucky!! So not really worth bothering with BUT to keep a close eye on kids and if they deteriorate beyond what normal flu symptoms would be to go to A & E
I had done the online assessment and got codes to collect some for dh, ds1 and ds2 I was told had to ring docs for me and baby as not straight forward....anyway I didn't bother getting any of them and we are all over it now, I just kept everyone cool dosed up on paracetamol and hydrated.....
