Anyone just seen the thing about the 'banana test" and weaning? they completely missed the point and basically the 'expert' they had reinforced the old fashioned view

Sami, I'm intrigued at what's !! out there... Surely Banana isn't a roood word lol...
But yeah, I saw the news and thought the woman could of done an awful lot better...
An I also chuckled when they cut to "A mother to get her views" and there was a bloke stood there!!!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I also though if they bother to do ANY research on the item they'd realise that they were saying a baby should be able to sit up and hold food as is the basic rules of blw and that there IS evidence that suggests early weaning can damage the child
EDIT - it is when you put " before banana 0 0

 You're very welcome
afternoon:D ta for reassuring message last night xxx
just been to my fave mum's group and discovered that after next week it's off til the week beginning 11th Jan Gonna have to find me some new fun:) Gonna have to find me some new fun:)
I always thought it was a nuisance that groups closed through the school holidays when they were groups for under school age children... But one of the groups I go to stays open through school holidays but older children aren't welcome... And that somehow feels worse...:oA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... oh yes, that does feel worse Is it because the older children are too grown up for the activities or something? Wracking my brains to think why they can't come... They've obviously picked up a snippet of information and made a rush job of a news peice out of it... They could have done so much better...I had to edit it twice too I think it was the quotation mark that did it, lets test !!!!!!! Because it's a 'newborn' group... I think they worry that they might go barging around treading all over the babies, which is fair enough given the behaviour of some older children at a group I went to wednesday... But my girl's a good girl... I can kind of see both sides... Doesn't make it any nicer though...oh yes, that does feel worse Is it because the older children are too grown up for the activities or something? Big kids come to my toddler group in the holidays which is fine when its sunny and they play outside but when it's not I don't go because some of them are badly behaved little scrotes that run round/break things/use inappropriate language etc :rolleyes:0
