  • R.Mac - the CM I use does provide snacks, I just send her lunch, the CM also covers the costs of the trips out.

    Hi everyone

I just wanted to say thank you all so much for for all your kind words (and PM's) I really appreciate it sooo much....I am just really struggling with everything at the moment and it is lovely to hear nice things from so many of you:)

We had parents evening tonight, both boys are doing wonderfully I am really pleased:D

I am wondering whther to leave Kai booked in with the nursery one day a week after I leave uni? I haven't looked into it fully but I am pretty sure dh can get the childcare grant added on to his finance application!! I am torn really because it would still be an outlay (although small) for us that isn't entirely neccesary, but he loves it there and the staff all love him I feel guilty for getting him used to something different and then changing it all round and pulling him out....and what if I then decide I do need to work after all, it would mean getting him used to it all over again!!! Hmmm, will think on it.

DH had his medication changed but I am slightly concerned as the new one is mainly for depression/anxiety but won't help with his ocd so those symtoms may return!!! I don't know if he has decided to take them or just stay on his others!!

    Mel x

    Me too!
Not been quizzed yet 3, Isla's my first. Arrived 5 days late after a 6hr 34 min labour with gas and air for just the last 1 hr 40 mins. I didnt realise I had such a good pain tolerance but only arrived at hospital 2 hrs 2 mins before her birth so had no time for anything else!

Ladies that met today is TC the Trafford Centre? Im really close to there, I didnt realise so many were local peeps.

The Quizzing will come later when the [STRIKE]nosey[/STRIKE] lovely MFD arrives. :p

That's excellent timing for your first! Best get to hospital sharpish for your next one.

that's a point - what does a CM normally provide re: snacks etc. also if there was an outing planned would I be asked to cover the cost? Neither is a problem I'm just wondering what the norm;) is (although I bet everyone comes back with different answers :rotfl:)

Every CM is different. Food, drinks, snacks and trips were some of the questions on my list and every one I visited (7 in total?) was different.

My CM provides all food and snacks and drinks, I provide milk. My CM also pays for most trips but she did say that if they did anything super-expensive she would ask for a contribution....what can you do that is super-expensive with a baby??

Most CMs will ask you to provide food if the child is under 1, over 1 it varies wildly!

Although my CM was telling me yesterday that Benjamin eats more than her 2 girls do!! So she may be regretting her decision to provide food!!

Charges for CMs also vary wildly and IMHO have nothing to do with the standard of care that the child receives or what they provide. I saw a CM wanting £4.50 an hour and would provide nothing, mine charges £3 an hour and provides everything

rmac - as you guessed I think all CMs are different. Mine provided all drinks, food and paid for groups and she used her own nappies and wipes. I provided her with nappy cream, sun cream and a cup (the cup was because she only had the no spill cups and I don't like them) I also sent him with jars and snacks on the very first day so she could get a feel for how much he ate but after that his lunches were usually left overs from her tea the night before.
