elle, thats weird !! Dylan has 5ml a day of his and it has to be disposed of after 8 days, so I am on an arrangement with the pharmacy t pick it up every Friday and get a 35ml bottle. But it was the pharmacy that arranged that, not the doctor !!The two best things I have done with my life

We have issues with it being a surgery in another village who will only send the prescription to certain chemists and sometimes they've sent to the chemist when I've specifically told them not to and then suddenly a delivery driver appears with it but it turns out to be wrong (wouldn't have been if I'd have collected it and taken it to the chemist I want to use!)... *sigh* Sorry to whinge
Just been looking at the supermarket leaflets from the free paper. Morrisons have children's baking sets for £3 and £4 if anyone's looking for one for Christmas0 -
Elle, have you spoken to the GP about it?
I lost internet for AGES!
Oh and remembered at 5pm that it's our wedding anniversary today...0 -
Glam, please help..
Bl00dy doctors receptionists are winding me up.. They've been sarky with mum while we were away and can't seem to work anything out for themselves.
Rhys is on a medication that he needs (atm) 1ml three times a day. It has to be made up by the chemist every time (so drop the prescription off and then collect the meds 2-3 days later), once made up a bottle lasts a month, but once you've opened the bottle you can only use it for eight days before throwing it away. They've so far given me all sorts of combinations - a bottle of 100ml, 5 x 10ml bottles and now 3 x 50ml bottles - and they b!tch at me about constantly going back for more and wasting money... Well if they give me a 100ml bottle which I've got to throw away after eight days, of course I'm wasting 76ml! Grrr.. The latest prescription of 3 x 50ml bottles isn't cost effective either.
What can I do to make they listen and give me what I want ?? (which is 3 x 30ml bottles which is most cost-effective / less waste). The receptionists don't listen to me, they say they'll give me one thing then they write something else on the prescription, or they moan but don't change it. Can I hand in a letter to the practise manager stating what I want and that I'm fed up of their attitude? (don't understand why they can't work it out themselves?!)... Grrrr again!
ETA: Sorry for ranting.. I'm annoyed for other reasons too (OH's family)
Going to Tesco for steak for tea, bu99er the budget!
:hello: Tigs.. all going well, I hope!Get those babysitters trained!
Hi elle
I would do what csh said - go to the chemist and get them to work out the most cost effective/waste efficient way of doing it. Then write a letter to the Practice Manager or ask to see them, tell them exactly what the chemist has said and say that's what you want every week. Also mention the receptionists attitude.
In fairness to the receptionists they aren't medically trained but the GP's do put a lot of pressure on them to add new medications (something I have always said GP's should do) which they don't understand. Some of them can be really complicated and it is difficult when things get chopped and changed a lot especially if someone different does it everytime.
Go to the chemist as they are better at calculating things than the GP's and then go to the Practice Manager, say this is what I want, it shouldn't change and could they try to get it right for once
In fact, reading MM's post I'm pretty sure the chemist could make up a bottle to suit. So, the GP computer system might show that something only comes in 100ml bottles HOWEVER they could do a handwritten script for 35ml - the chemist would then pour 35ml out of the 100ml bottle and give you that. Although it doesn't solve the waste/cost issue, the manufacturers might only make it in a 100ml IYSWIM.
Tigs - I like PK but did you see him on CIN last night? I thought he looked like he's put a lot of weight on!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

But the sleeping bag should be fine, I did the same as you and held it up to the 6-12 one we're using at the minute and there is barely a cm difference between the two lol...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thankyou all
Will go chat to the chemist then write a letter once this lot runs out
Tia, nope, we've never seen the GP with Rhys - he's yet to have a problem (touch wood!) outside of the issues the hospital deal with.0 -
