*hugs* and hoorays to all who need them!

Development check went fine. HV checked her weight and height which were both bang on the 50th centile, so she's all in proportion!

Then she gave Charlotte a bookstart pack and showed her the books and colouring stuff in it. She had a list of questions to ask me, but Charlotte kept answering them too :D Like "does she know her colours yet?" and Charlotte piped up "yes and I like purple best" :rotfl:The rest was just asking could she go up and downstairs unaided, how's potty training going, does she hold a pencil properly and stuff like that.

She asked if I had any medical worries or if there was anything I wasn't coping with, but I said everything was fine. She said she would normally do a speech therapy exercise, but Charlotte had chatted on enough so she'd already realised there are no problems there.

Then we just chatted in general while she filled the paperwork in. It was the HV who has four children of her own, so she speaks from experience rather than textbook and I like seeing her.
Here I go again on my own....

Jillie, you might not need to get the Virgin connection moved, depending on whether you're willing to leave any tech equipment upstairs - you could just have the cable modem & router upstairs, and then have both the PC and the laptop downstairs but both working via wifi. I think that's going to be our solution when Andrew moves into the nursery (and the PC moves out), I'm sure he won't mind a small shelf in the corner of the room with the 2 small units on.

beccles - charlotte is so cute. Now we all know her favourite colour :D It's great when you get a HV that has experience of children themselves - I've seen a real difference between the ones in our area.

  • I'm pooped, but Liam seemed to like the water, although he screamed through out getting changed and back into the car. To be fair an hour is a long time for him. He had a nap but obviously woke up demanding feeding as soon as I sat down with lunch, said bottle has been polished off but he looks so tired. I hoping for a longish nap so i can get some cleening done.

Yay Charlotte! Beccles she is a star.
Get well vibes to all in need and sleepy baby vibes too! Remeber all babies will sleep through eventually.

Thanks Fitzio. Alex has about 9 or 10 4oz bottles a day. Its a constant round of feeding, washing and sterelising bottles. Plus he refuses to sleep at all it the day, a couple of 10 min cat naps and thats it. Have tried putting him in his cot to sleep in the day, but it doesn't work. Drives in the car, walks in the pram or carrier, all result in little naps. The child is just never tired. But can whinge for england. lol. Thats why i don't get to come on here to often or get to catch up with what every one is upto, Alex wants attention all the time. Its true that no two babies are the same. He is totally opposite to DS1. Got to go now and fit in a feed before school run.

    Hope everyone is keeping well.

re: mothercare bibs - we have the toddler ones and they are waterproof backed and don't melt in our tumble drier?!

My little girl has just WALKED all by herself for the first time - two steps but progress :D I'm a very very very proud mummy.

She's also a bit obsessed with the word daddy - but I am refusing to believe that it's her first word and that she knows what it means/who it referes to :D

    Woohoo on walking!!!

So mothercare plastic bibs are ok in the TD... ;) good to know :D
    Have a good holiday elle

We have sick bay at chez jones! Charlie was grumpy yesterday, went to bed at 7,sick twice by 9pm, Reece was sick twice as well, then hubby joined in! Then the other end started for Charlie and a few more sick incidents! Then it was my turn at 4am to start being sick - 4 times betwen then and 10am. Hardly had any sleep and so dis-orientated! I've managed to grab 30 mins sleep since then but fortunately DH, Charlie have had 2hrs & Reece has had 1.5hrs

Poor you lot! But if it is like the bugs (I've actually not had a full nights sleep for a fortnight because one child or the other has been ill, then sat night DH was ill) we have had, they don't last long. Get well soon Chez Jones!
