  • Afternoon all - we went and bought Benjamin this Santa Suit from Mothercare today:

Shockingly expensive but we want to do Christmas cards so I wanted one that looks nice - some are incredibly shoddy :o

As soon as hubby wakes up from his nap we will get the camera and see if Benjamin is in the mood for being cute!!! At the moment he is just being naughty and wouldn't nap with daddy and insists on playing with everything he shouldn't instead of his toys! He had one of my dining room chairs over earlier

SM - use the sink :D

    Salt Dough

    1 cup salt
    2 cups plain flour
aprox 1 cup water (start with half and add more slowly)

Mix it up (you can add food colouring if you like or split it into batches later) then knead for a good 5-10mins till it gets to a nice workable texture. I add about a tea spoonful of oil as it makes it a little more workable.

Any that isn't used, wrap in cling film and store in the fridge.

Allow to air dry or bake in a low oven about 150'c for (it depends, thin things about 30mins-1hr, thicker a little more) keep checking it. I bung it in the oven after I've cooked dinner with the oven off but still warm.

Paint with any paint you like and varnish with any clear varnish (I just used wood varnish that was lying around)

do you mean compared to anything else or just in general?
I love mine but part of me thinks I would have been better getting the iphone :o
I suppose the biggest negative about it is the price

Tia - have you got a salt dough recipe and instructions for baking (and varnishing, if that's what you do to them) please honey?

Wher does everyone get paint from for their creations? Is it normal poster paint? I know I'm weird but I can't stand the texture of poster paint when it's dry. It's like running your nails down a blackboard _pale_

Take it you're talking about the sleeping bag and not the saucepans? :D Yep, it is very cute.
    Salt Dough Recipe
If you mix some PVA glue in with the paint it will dry in a more shiny plasticy finishe not the nasty dry way that makes you shudder ;)

Oh my word.. You know I'm obsessed with what our "friends" little boy eats? :o OH has just told me what he had for tea on Friday night while OH was there.. chicken nuggets and chips from a pizza takeaway place _pale_

He's also drinking semi-skimmed milk. What age should LO's be on full fat milk until? I have in my head five.. He's 20 months :(
