Beenie why not pop a note in the neighbours doors telling them you are having a homebirth so they may hear some noise from your property during/after baby is born. Say something along the lines of "I will try to to keep all noise/parking disruption?" etc to a minimum if they could also please be considerate towards you and your newborn.

I'd love to bang on the wall when they are out to dis-lodge their tv (so evil me!)

Elle: we've got some firemen coming round tomorrow for a fire safety check (smoke alarms and the like) if you happened to not be busy and wanted to pop round.

ETA: your OH is a fireman anyways isn't he!

SM how did Phillips job go? (hope you haven't already said!)
