try not to worry, the more relaxed you are about it, the easier you will find it, no matter what the outcome, and if you end up with a cs, who cares, you will have your baby and thats all that matters
Keep yourself busy is the best advise I can say for keeping sane, I went 11 days over with my DD and for the last week I rearranged all of my photo albums into as good a date order as I could !!

You still have two whole day for things to start naturally, and if not then induction really is not the end of the world, and nor is a C-section. I was home two days after mine, and would do it all again in a flash for Henry. Your baby will be so worth it.
Well we have the in-laws coming round in a minute- OH has gone to get them. I've made Shepherd's Pie and veggies for tea. I thought people were supposed to make tea for you when you have a baby, but this is the second time I've made tea for the in-laws since Henry was born (three weeks ago). I'm shattered after a trip into town, to Sainsburys then cooking.
In other news I have expressed for the first time- managed 4oz in two sessions, which I'm pretty chuffed with. Now we just have to see whether bubs will take a bottle:rolleyes:.

Don't think OH is going out now. He has man flu, or Keira disease, she is partial to coughing in your mouth during the night.....bless! So I'm going to Tesco tonight to get a new Xmas tree and this is the list now:
Xmas tree
Xmas lights
Red decorations for the tree
Roof tinsel decorations
Xmas wrapping paper
Paracetamol
Ibuprofen
Cloudy honey (for his tea because it makes you better apparently:rolleyes:)
Lemon for his tea
Screw in lightbulbs!
Something for tea. As I've defrosted nothing.
Honestly, OH is such a baby with a cough/cold, and lectures me on the benefits of honey etc etc as it makes you better, even if it does, I doubt it makes a drastic difference and don't get me started on his pro biotic yoghurt nonsense.....:o0 -
Oh nice SM, whats the recipe for that one. Is it basically just chilli wraps, put in an oven dish covered in cheese and baked for a bit? I really need a tex mex cooking book!! So fattening though, all that cheese, guac and sour cream and that's before you even hit the main :rotfl:0

Trust me to have a night off on the one and only night I might have been useful!
This is going to be a long one!
Em - I'm guessing you're on old rules CSA1? I didn't realise OH's child was that old. (New rules CSA2 - your earnings wouldn't matter).
They are supposed to be swapping everyone over to new rules eventually, but new rules comp. system doesn't work properly so it's been hugely delayed - and will probably never happen before CMEC (CSA3) comes into force.
The only way to swap over to new is for OH's ex to close the case, wait 13 weeks, and open a new case which would be new rules.
If OH's ex is on benefits, she's allowed to keep £20 a week of maintenance on top of her benefits. So she'll be getting £80 a month. But if you offered her £100 a month between yourselves, she SHOULD declare the amount to the benefits agency, and they'd reduce her benefits by £20 a month. So she'd be no better or worse off.
Maybe if they were on speaking terms, he could pay her the £80 a month in a private arrangement - but he could buy other stuff for the child?
Money the CSA collects all goes to the parent with care, unless she's on benefits when she gets the first £20 pw, and the rest goes to the government to recoup some benefits money. Next year, she will be allowed to keep all of the maintenance on top of her benefits.
CSA don't charge for their services (but CSA3 will apparently).
The idea is that if people have to pay for the service they may be encouraged to make private arrangements between themselves therefore reducing the workload (and staff needed) at the agency.
My view is that in the ideal world, people would do it between themselves if possible (In Mr.MFD's case it is) - but most people are using the CSA because they have too!
No it doesn't go into a big pot to make up for non payers. If you ex is a non payer - you get nothing. (I am living proof!) (As Krystal later clarified!)
On old rules, they don't actually use your wages as the partner to pay maintenance, but they look at your wages to say that if you're earning X amount - you will be contributing to the household bills therefore your OH has a little bit extra disposable income.
On new rules they'd look at OH's average weekly earnings, reduce it by 15% to take into account Seth, then take 15% of whats left for the ex's child. Only adjustment to that is if the child stayed with you & OH for more than 52 nights per year.
Are there any arrears outstanding now?, of is that £170 just regular maintenance?
I haven't done old rules calculations in years, but Kellogs, who frequents the CSA boards is the expert. (She worked on old rules CSA for years). I probably wouldn't post on the CSA board - there's a few nutters about. But i'm sure if you PM her your details she'll be able to check the assessment is right.
And i've still only caught up til 12.30am!
Back soon. xx:beer:0 -
