Aww Maz - we were just saying how all littleys are scared of santa :)

Carla - did you have a good boogie when you were out though?
I'm starting to wish I could leave Ed for longer, MIL has got a spare ticket to a really swish do, I'd love to go but theres no chance, I'm also desperate to have my hair cut but I doubt I'd get an app now so I'll have to wait until after my hols so I'll look crap on all the photos

SM - I've got to go collect Chris from MILs and then to costco to hopefully get my passport pics  Why do I leave these things to the last min!!??
I'm gonna end up aving to go to the passport office in l'pool if I don't get a shift on!!

ooh get your feet in a nice bowl of bubbles :)

yeah I've never left him for more than 1hr and he's only had a bottle once and I keep forgetting to try him again, I always think "I'll sterilise a bottle to try him with" but never get round to it.

Right I best be off, MIL will be miffed with me if I don't pick Chris up soon! (she goes for lunch at her dads on a sunday but they have no seat for Chris in car)

randomly I'm sure I've seen Jamie O make a dessert with rosemary sugar in it, he bashed it with the sugar in the pestle n mortar until it was all green then sieved out the bits - does that count as infusing or would that just be stick rosemary stalks in a jar of sugar?

I want to try the choc pan forte (sp) they've made on SFTW

I've no idea. I suppose so - maybe just a fast way of infusing?

    What's SFTW?

Ooooooooooh I just looked up that recipe and it sounds fabulous.

    100g/3½oz peeled hazelnuts
    125g/4½oz almonds
225g/8oz mixed candied peel or mixed dried fruit
    1 lemon, zest only
    75g/2¾oz plain flour
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    ½ tsp ground cloves
1-2 pinches freshly grated nutmeg, to taste
    pinch freshly ground white pepper
    1 tbsp cocoa powder
    150g/5oz golden caster sugar
    3-4 tbsp clear honey
50g/1¾oz unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
hot chocolate sauce and fresh cream, to serve (optional)

    1. Preheat the oven to 150C/300F/Gas 2.
    2. Grease a 20cm/8in springform cake tin with butter, then line it with a large sheet of rice paper (or greaseproof paper), leaving enough excess to be able to wrap around the top of the cake.
    3. Sprinkle the nuts onto a baking tray and roast in the oven for 4-5 minutes, checking regularly, until toasted and golden-brown.
    4. Transfer the toasted nuts to a bowl and add the mixed candied peel or dried fruit, lemon zest, flour, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, grated nutmeg, white pepper and cocoa powder. Mix until well combined.
    5. Heat the sugar, honey and butter in a pan until bubbling, then continue to cook, stirring well, for 4-5 minutes, or until well combined.
    6. Pour the melted honey and sugar mixture over the nut mixture and mix quickly until well combined. Spoon into the prepared cake tin immediately, then fold the excess lining over the top of the cake.
    7. Transfer the cake to the oven and cook for 35-40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean. Set aside to cool before serving. Serve slices of the cake with hot chocolate sauce or fresh cream.
