He's 16 months today. He has a number of sleep challenges! But I know a number of people on this thread are suffering much more right now (albeit mostly younger babies) so I shan't moan too much :p

Ahh right, has it always been a struggle at night with him, or did he 'change' patterns? Just curious really, Kai is going to be 15mths when baby 4 comes along and i'm hoping his sleeping habits don't change.

Do you not like to give him ibuprofen? Very good for toothache as it's an anti-infammatory:)

:o:rotfl: You will be fine...just don't put any pressure on yourself:)

Yes make sure you get your beauty sleep, although i'm sure you don't really need any;)

Do you know where you are going?

Too late :D Girls are expectant for me to be successful :o

Well, i'm going to watch the footie in a minute and then to bed, before getting up and spending 3 hours in the mirror :rotfl:

We are going to a local restaurant for a Sunday Lunch. Small place, not rowdy and recommended as having good quality food.

Friend came around this evening saying the young lady is nervous but excited. Apparently she wanted my friend to tell me all these things, to give me an out if I wanted, but I told her not to tell me, as I don't want an out before I get the chance to know her. She's incredibly insecure it seems, which is a shame as she looks good and is seemingly an intelligent and nice lady :o I know she's used to ar$£holes and has had a tough time, so it's down to me to show her that not all men are bad, and most importantly, i'm kind of okay - if a little hopeless with the better sex :o:rotfl:

my ds didn't sleep through til 2 1/5 yrs and imean he was up 5 or 6 times a night, it was hell.

he's had calpol, no nurofen/ibuprofen left. he's asleep now but it's been a long day. poor wee lad had 2 tummy bugs and a cold he missed 2 weeks of nursery and has been back a week now it's toothache and a sore 'winkle'

I'd say both Mel - it's always been a struggle, and he's changed patterns :p
    sorry if that doesn't help!
We think the root of his bad sleep is his reflux though, which was waking him every couple of hours quite often around 4-6 months, and probably taught him bad patterns and the comfort of sleeping on daddy's shoulder and so on. He also still has a bit of reflux which maybe wakes him sometimes too. And some nights he goes through now, quite unpredictably (only 1 night in the last week, but it does happen).

I don't think we've noticed a particular age-related pattern shift, but he's so variable its hard to say! Fingers crossed for you :)
  • Good luck MOTM! Just relax and have a lovely lunch :)

No advice on the teeth here, but I hope you find something that works for you. Poor boy :( Try not to beat yourself up over it, do what is best for him now :)
