Just checked the Weleda shampoo fred-davies and it states they don't test their products on animals, the rosemary shampoo and conditioner is very good.MFW 1/5/08 £45,789 Cleared mortgage 1/02/13

I adore lush products and knowing they are against animal testing is a big plus for me.
I've not heard about animal free shopper so will look at the link.
I also try to buy fair trade products, and hope that they are also anti animal testing - do you think that they will be?"It is always the best policy to speak the truth-unless, of course, you are an exceptionally good liar." - Jerome K Jerome0 -

Thanks! Some great ideas here, I will get my partner to have a look at some of these firms. I don't know what I'm looking for with regard to cosmetics, and she doesn't use as many as some of her friends do!0

Yes, I got a reply from The Body Shop, aknowledged receipt of my returned, (cut up), Love Your Body membership card, stated that they're an ethically-driven company & listed all their acheivements over the years, ie. securing UK & European bans on animal testing for cosmetic purposes, developing it's own Fair trade programme, Community Trade. Also states that "The Body Shop & L'Oreal believe that protecting & enhancing the values of The Body Shop is an essential part of the proposed partnership".
This doesn't change anything though! I'll still never use The Body Shop again, they've been bought out by a company I've avoided all my life & Nestle, one of the most boycotted companies on the planet, have a 26% share in them!!
Your actions are to be applauded Dame Anita!!!!FAIRTRADE NOT FREE TRADE

Hi
I've used Honesty toiletries and cosmetics quite a lot. When I was in hospital last December some of the staff commented on how nice the shampoo and body moisturiser was.
All L'Oreal toiletries and cosmetics are produced under French regulations which do NOT have the same degree of strictness that the UK has about not testing on animals.
Also there's Animal Aid's 'Purple Monkey' range - see https://www.animalaid.org.uk

I use Liz Earles range. It's organic and isn't tested on animals. It is available in a handful of shops (generally in London) but she has a good website www.lizearle.com. Everything is beautifully packaged and you usually get a free sample with your order. The only thing is she doesn't do shampoo as yet.MFiT-T2 No.350

Weleda are excellent as are https://www.livingnature.com and https://www.lavera.co.uk
Be carefull lots of "ORGANIC" cosmetics etc only have to have a small amount of organic ingredients to claim that on the product label lots contain suspect ingredients under the organic banner!
Pears Soap is another excellent soap no animal testing lasts ages and safe ingredients.
Ecover (dish) washing up liquid makes a great shower or bath gel tooAre U getting enough Vitamin D in your life!?0
