A Payment A Day - Part Six!

Hi Jasper
I started PaDing last week. I've decided to total mine on a spreadsheet and then send that amount weekly to pay off the cards. I generally try PaD money that I would have otherwise spent (e.g. coffees etc.). I've found it very motivating actually.
Good luck and keep posting - you will get through this.

Hi Jasper...welcome to PAD!!
The 1st rule of being a DFW is you never ever ever get a consolidation loan so steer well clear of that idea especially as your OH won't stop spending on a cc!!
We're all here to offer some friendly advice but you'll find loads of useful info on the DFW board and maybe you could go have a nosey around the old style board to get some ideas about meal palnning to cut costs etc...
In fact...maybe I should have checked your post count before I typed that incase you're not new to all this :rolleyes:Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

I know I probably sound stupid, but as you can see from my sig, me and OH have got a bad amount of debt and since having MY LBM, I feel like I am fighting a losing battle. I feel so depressed this month, feel like im getting nowhere. I do daily clicks and free scratchcards and have got a good amount built up. so will use that for the highest ccs. But I still feel like I nowhere near as good as you lot, I feel like im getting nowhere. sorry for the rant and going on, but I really wanna get rid of this debt asap, (currently studying ) hoping to get a good second job when im done. we have got 2 unsecured loans and my OH wont stop using his 0% cc (idiot). he feels depressed at min and wants me to sort out another unsecured loan to consolidate the 2 we already have plus the cc!!! I really dont wanna do this, cos I know he wont stop using the flaming cc!!!!! shall I just give in and get the loan???? so depressed at the moment, maybe im just bein silly. maybe i should just get on and enjoy my life and try and enjoy debt busting! lol. but i cant, can anyone help me move on??? sorry for the long post, I feel like crying at the moment.
I wouldn't go as far as Angelicmary. Sometimes, occasionally, consolidation of debts is worth doing IMO. However, from what I've read in your post, it would not be the right choice for you unless (a) you can get it at a VERY low rate (much lower than existing debts) (b) you take scissors to your existing cards and close the card account(s) and (c) you lock up your husband.
You really do need to do an SOA before much else can be achieved.
