£5.42 for me today please !
  • Hi JasperConran
I started this PAD last week. I've been using my ebay earnings so far, and I will be using anything left over from my wages once I've minused everything I have to budget for. My loose change and anything left over from my weekly grocery and weekly spend budget all goes in my sealed pot (sealed pot challenge) which will probably go to my PAD when the challenge ends.
Just use whatever you can spare!!

  • Sorry, just read the rest of your post JasperConran.
Take a look at some of the other threads on here and they can help you. Have you done a statement of affairs? We have all been in or are still in the same situation so there are lots of people in the right position to give advice.

I feel like I need to get into the whole pad thing. so what do you guys pledge? is just like, loose change when you've got it?? I know I probably sound stupid, but as you can see from my sig, me and OH have got a bad amount of debt and since having MY LBM, I feel like I am fighting a losing battle. I feel so depressed this month, feel like im getting nowhere. I do daily clicks and free scratchcards and have got a good amount built up. so will use that for the highest ccs. But I still feel like I nowhere near as good as you lot, I feel like im getting nowhere. sorry for the rant and going on, but I really wanna get rid of this debt asap, (currently studying ) hoping to get a good second job when im done. we have got 2 unsecured loans and my OH wont stop using his 0% cc (idiot). he feels depressed at min and wants me to sort out another unsecured loan to consolidate the 2 we already have plus the cc!!! I really dont wanna do this, cos I know he wont stop using the flaming cc!!!!! shall I just give in and get the loan???? so depressed at the moment, maybe im just bein silly. maybe i should just get on and enjoy my life and try and enjoy debt busting! lol. but i cant, can anyone help me move on??? sorry for the long post, I feel like crying at the moment.

Hi - sorry your feeling so low.

PAD can work however you like, you could put all your loose change in jar everyday then pay it in at the end of the week/month.

I personally transfer money online everyday, i tend to just round down my account. Basically its whatever suits you!

Also i really wouldnt recommend that you take out another loan especially if your OH will continue spending on the credit card! I know how hard it is to get partners onboard, i had my LBM a year before my OH, but you really need to talk to your OH and explain how serious the situation is.

Also have you tried putting your SOA on the main board?

    Hi Jasper :hello:

PAD can certainly help you and posting every day will help keep your focus. You do have a large mountain to climb and I think you would get lots of help if you started your own diary.
There are plenty on here with large debts, as well as those who have made a fantastic job paying them off.

If you start a new thread on DFW diaries, you will gets lots of replies and support. The key thing is to post on here every day and keep posting. I guarantee it really will help :)

Wooo I've just withdrawn my first free bingo winnings - only a tenner but it's a £5 profit on what I've paid out so I'm not complaining!

I'll pad it when it hits my bank account :)

Hi Jasper, welcome to PAD - you can join in with this how you like, different people do it in different ways but it does make such a difference and it becomes so addictive that you find youself spending less just so you can make a better PAD!! I started in May (I think) and through PAD I've paid off about 2k that otherwise would have gone on random stuf that I wouldn't even remember now.

With regards to your OH, I can only echo what others have said, you need to talk to him and make him understand how serious things are. It's hardly worth you making the effort to pay off the debt if he's going to be racking it up at the same rate. Best of luck :)

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o
  • Oh wow, thank you all so much. I do actually feel a bit better after my rant! I will make alot more of an effort on the pad front i think starting from tommorow. will also take your advice and go over the dfw diaries and make a start there. thanks all of you, for your advice and kind words:D
