    Morning all,

Still no PAD for me, having a bad one - work still not paid my expenses and mortgage has come out again and am well into my OD :( PAD tomorrow which is good but don't feel like I can make and PAD yet until I try and get sorted. I am thinking of starting my own diary, more than anything to help me keep track of where everything is going, I seems to be slowly coming off the rails and I want to try and stop it.

    Sorry for the moan!

    Hope you are all well

    Minnime,
No need to apologise, we all get tired of it all!
I have only joined these challenges this week as I keep getting freaked out by all my debt but then not doing anything about it!
I've found the weekly spend thread helpful, it's making me keep track of every single penny I spend!
Just write down every single thing you buy, even just for a week or so, to help you see where you can cut down.
I'm sure others might have some better advice for you too, but thats what I've been doing and it's helping so far! Early days though :o

Thanks Pysho - I will try a spending diary and see - just need to get my bum in gear and get back on track, just finding it hard at the minute - feel very de-motivated

Totally agree. The 2 best bits of advice I ever got on this board are:-
    1. use cash - if you haven't got it you can't spend it!
    2. keep a spending diary - every penny - even the packet of polos on the way to work!

The little PAD's are making a big difference.

  • Oh, and i just read back through everyone's posts, and thank you for all the comments..although i can guarantee that that £600 was more of a one-off than setting a standard

I'm in a weird place right now in that i'm expecting a few refunds from bills and bits and bobs after moving out of my flat and in with my SO. This means that some days i'll be PADing the shrapnel in my purse (and barely that!), whilst others will be much healthier (hopefully!) Personally, though, I can be almost as happy PADing 25p as I can £25 as it's the momentum, regularity, and sticking to my vow of a Payment A Day that makes it all worthwhile.

I hope your foot heals soon, Silaqui! An excuse to get people to wait on you, perchance? ;)

It's funny all the little things you forget you bought... I got a lottery ticket yesterday which is only a pound, but quite a lot out of my weekly spend of £15! I made £64 on ebay in 2 days and this went to towards one of my ODs but this time last week I would have just spent it then not known where it had gone.
