Firstly, I'm back from the DFW meet and am in perfect health!

How was it? would've loved to have come :D
  • I've just got in from doing my highest earning day in a very long time to find some mildly good news on my doormat. My mortgage is going to be about £5 a month cheaper for the next three months. I will be thankful for small mercies and be grateful for every penny. It's a long time since I did a £300 day so I will be happy about that too. Mind you, I haven't been paid a single penny of it yet  .
I started window cleaning on a largish office when it was still dark and by the time I finished it was light - so I just walked round to make sure there was no bird crap anywhere on the upper floor glass. Then I had a few other largish jobs. I have some commercial/industrial work that must be done at the weekend and the jobs are at different intervals. A couple of times a year they all fall on the same weekend. All I need now are about 40 more jobs like that and the card companies will end up owing me money
The daft thing is that if I had pushed myself harder, I could have done maybe another £40. I wish all my work was like that.

    Hi Paul,

Do you use treated water for your work? I have window cleaner who uses treated water but the windows never look clean after he's been round. I tried to cancel him but he gave me my money back after I told him that he'd left bird crap on the windo the last time he'd been. How do you politely cancel a window cleaner??

Obviously we went into school in the warm until her mum can to get her, but if I hadn't been able to stay with her for that long the poor kid would have been stood there in the cold and dark on her own?? Who does that? Is it just me who thinks that's really bad?

My parents would have been there at 4.30 just incase I arrived home early!

I once stopped a young boy (maybe 6 or 7) who was wondering around outside my old flat. The estate was newly build and I thought he was lost. It was pouring rain (bouncing off the ground it was so heavy!) and he only had trainers and a jacket on. I asked him if he needed help finding his way home to which he replied...my mum'sboyfriend is my house and mum told me to go out and play so they could have some time together :eek:

Can I ask all you parents too, what do you think is a fair amount to spend on a present for a childs party? I spent £5 on each, plus £1 on a card..... is that enough/too much/just right...?

    Thanks

    Sx

    Hi Sarah
£5 is my limit too. This week I bought in bulk from TK MAXX and got a few pressies for £3 each - but they look much more :money:
    I bought 2 @ £5, 3 @ £3 and she charged me £11.74 :j

Sadly, when I got back to the car I'd got a parking ticket
It's free parking but they've just brought in a system where you have to display a ticket
I didn't know about this and was so cross after saving money, but quick thinking from my MSE colleague meant I begged a ticket from someone who was leaving, so will send that off and hopefully dodge the fine!
