A Payment A Day - Part Six!

I've just got in from doing my highest earning day in a very long time to find some mildly good news on my doormat. My mortgage is going to be about £5 a month cheaper for the next three months. I will be thankful for small mercies and be grateful for every penny. It's a long time since I did a £300 day so I will be happy about that too. Mind you, I haven't been paid a single penny of it yet  .
I started window cleaning on a largish office when it was still dark and by the time I finished it was light - so I just walked round to make sure there was no bird crap anywhere on the upper floor glass. Then I had a few other largish jobs. I have some commercial/industrial work that must be done at the weekend and the jobs are at different intervals. A couple of times a year they all fall on the same weekend. All I need now are about 40 more jobs like that and the card companies will end up owing me money
The daft thing is that if I had pushed myself harder, I could have done maybe another £40. I wish all my work was like that.0 -
Hello everyone!
Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I was on a school trip which didn;t get back till 5 then it was our work xmas do.
I was really annoyed though when we got back from the trip. Our kids are 15/16 so most of them get themselves home by bike or walking, but a couple were waiting for lifts. Obviously I'm not going to leave them there in the dark on their own, so I was waiting around to make sure they all got picked up. One girl was still left at about half 5 so I asked her if she was getting a lift - she'd rang her mum and been told that her mum would pick her up at 6pm  I asked her if she'd be better off walking but she lived 45 minutes away! Bear in mind they'd all been told in the letter that we'd be arriving back at 5pm, and given the opportunity to phone up when we were on the way back.
Obviously we went into school in the warm until her mum can to get her, but if I hadn't been able to stay with her for that long the poor kid would have been stood there in the cold and dark on her own?? Who does that? Is it just me who thinks that's really bad?
Anyway, today I've been to the Christmas Market in Birmingham and gorged on german food and beer, followed by some Krispy Kreme donuts in Selfridges! Yum!
And my PAD for today and yesterday is £12 (not padding in blue due to Leicesters abysmal performance agains Forest today...) please Gilli.

i think that's fine - i may spend a little more on a close friend for the right gift, but have been known to spend less if i get a bargain. my little one went to a party last weekend, got a high school musical fleece blanket for 1.99 and a hsm tin with biscuits in for 1.49 plus a 29p card from b&m. the present looked lovely wrapped and i have seen the tins somwhere (tesco? can't remember) for 2 for 6 quid! the blanket should've been about 7. remember, it's not what you paid for it that counts - it's mainly the thought that countsand also factor in the "worth" - lots of us are guilty of "bulking" out a perfectly good present because we got it cheap!

I'd say that that is fair amount to spend...The way I see it is like this...they're not your !!!!!!! kids so why should you give them anything :rotfl::rotfl:I'm only kidding... but I do sometimes feel like that with a certain family members wee bratsvioletblue wrote: »Have you ever looked at www.bananas.co.uk? They have loads of extreeeeeemely cheap books (for kids and adults, but more for kids I think) and it's free delivery if you spend over £25. Might be worth a look to stock up on presents for future parties? If you go for the book sets, you could split them for even more of a bargain!
