Hi all,
Just moved into our new place and we have a TV so i decied to buy our TV Licence over the internet for the first time. its quoted that my Monthlet Payment will be around £28 until March 2010 and then from April 2010 it will be around £11 a month. Is this correct and is there any other ways to pay each week instead of direct debit like we signed up to
Thanks
Chris

What you have been quoted is correct - you pay for the first years licence over 6 months (licence valid til October 2010) then subsequent years licences (ie Octobers 2010 to 2011) are paid 6 months in advance and 6 months in arrears.
You can also set up a weekly payment plan or you can save special stamps to put towards your next licence.0 -
Can you still go into the Post Office and buy one in cash lump sum?
I had a visit from the tv licence people about 4 years ago, I dint have one. I said it was because I couldnt afford one so they gave me a card to pay at pappoint every week. I stopped after a couple of weeks and never heard from them since! When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -
:mad:hope they come again soon and haul you up before the magistrates next time...people like you make me sick! damn scroungers..0

totaly agree i live in a digital switch over area and have a neighbour who is moaning that he wont get all the freeview channelsafter switch over but he happily says he cant afford a licence but will think nothing of going out drinking nearly everyday it makes my blood boil.:mad:hope they come again soon and haul you up before the magistrates next time...people like you make me sick! damn scroungers..0 -
Perhaps he couldn't afford a TV either. The way TV licensing carry on, it would not surprise me if he did not have the TV and they still attempted to make him buy the licence.:mad:hope they come again soon and haul you up before the magistrates next time...people like you make me sick! damn scroungers..Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. well he paid for a couple of weeks which would suggest he has a tv...0 -
Unfortunately, TV licensing do have a habit of harassing, so I don't think it is a conclusion you can safely draw.well he paid for a couple of weeks which would suggest he has a tv...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
