Sorry about your loss - it can't be an easy time for you. I'm sure if you put a post on Freecycle in your area, you will quickly find a kind soul who has something suitable for you to wear and would help making you feel as though you were 'dressed appropriately' for your father's funeral. I know I would respond to a post along those lines anyway. You don't happen to be a size 8/10 in Kent do you (thinking of a black dress I have upstairs that has been worn once)0

yes to whoever pointed out i was advised to turn down my budgeting loan prior to br which was for carpets etc...for my childrens bedrooms and i did turn it down and that i am due to go br on monday but i have cancelled it as i am too distraught. BUT I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE DONE MY DAD PROUD AT THE VERY END CONSIDERING THE MESS I HAVE MADE OF MY LIFE.
And thank you DX2 for being the only person to offer any condolences.
I go on the BR part of the site and I have to say everyone gives everyone a chance whereas in my personal opinion this section seems quite quick to judge and condemn.Determind to make a better life for ME and my children
Thanks to hangingbyathread for making me include myself in the above xx0 -

If you're female then they have black trousers in Asda for £5 and a black 3/4 sleeved cape cardy for £8, which you could wear any colour top underneath. http://direct.asda.com/george/women-s-clothing/knitwear/cardigans-and-shrugs/cape-cardigan/GEM22316,default,pd.html
I bought them on Thursday night for a funeral I attended yesterday.
Extravagant flowers aren't a must, so you could always pick up some supermarket flowers.
So cardy, pants and flowers for under £20 ~ could you manage that?
P.S. So sorry for the loss of your Father xxxTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

How ungratful!
I offered some advice:borders_dude wrote: »According to their website you can apply to the social fund for a loan to pay for clothing. Not sure about flowers though :S
Here is a copy of their leaflet about the Social Fund. I presume it will be a budgeting loan from it you will be after?

I wouldnt have said that was being judgmental. I shall be sure not to offer you any help in future since you have just slagged off the people who contributed to your thread! When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -

Who has judged you and condemned you, no-one
DX2 was the only one who offered condolences because he/she looked at a different thread. How on earth could you expect us to know it was your father who had died.
How could we know you were br or had been advised to turn down a load.
I am sorry for your loss but your anger at your dad dying should not be turned on us who have tried to help. It seems that youre the first one on the quoted post to be quick to condemn and judge those same people.
You are the only one who can un-make the mess you have made of your life and your dad would have been proud of you no matter what you wore for his funeral.
and I'm sure everyone of us wish you well for the future.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

I made a useful posting in this thread, number two actually. This was before she slagged everone off for being judgmental.
I exclude myself from the 'everyone' in McKneff's posting on the basis of the ungrateful attitude shown by the OP and her attack on others as being judgmental! When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -
Hey guys - this poor woman has just lost her father, was due in BR court on Monday - can you imagine the stress she is under right now? Why don't we give her a break? Maybe her post above came across as ungrateful......but I know that if I were in her shoes right now, I don't think I could even think, let alone type and ask for advice. Think I'd be sat in a corner with my head in my knees and not wanting to come out.0

It did, yes, despite many people offering good advice! When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -
No problem Borders Dude......I hope that when you are feeling totally crushed, devastated and don't know what to do - you say and do all the right things as far as others are concerned.
You were thanked for your info in post number 3.0
