Good morning.
Cranky My continued prayers are with you & George. I have been absent from the board for 3 months & have just caught up. I can't say anything to make you feel better, I know, but I am thinking of you both.
Busy day here today my Mum & I are taking DS3 bowling then onto Pizza Hut for a meal deal as a treat for tea. I've told the others they can help themselves for once :rotfl:Poor DS3 has been ill with a chest infection this half term so he hasn't been anywhere. We had planned Chester Zoo, Blackpool Illuminations and a trip to a local country park but at least it's been money saving not going
The hounds have already been walked courtesy of DH so that's a job out of the way. My DD has got a part time job waitressing at a local hotel on Friday & Saturday nights - I'm very proud of her. She's saving her wages as she wants to go on holiday next summer when she's finished her college course. She worked last night until 1am and will be again tonight.
Lunch is hm egg fried rice & stir fried veggies which I'll make with some leftover rice in the fridge.
The washing is blowing on one line as the other collapsed as I was mid peg  Dh is going to have a root in the shed to see if there's another line knocking about. There should be with the amount of [STRIKE]rubbish[/STRIKE] carefully hoarded things he has in there
Nobody is trick or treating here - the older ones are too old & as I will only give to primary school aged children DS3 isn't going much to his disgust! We've got a bowl of sweets for anyone dressed up. I refuse to give anything to teenagers with nothing more than a mask on.
Have a good day all0 -
Cranky, it must be so difficult and you are coping so well, I do admire you. It sounds great fun having a 4 year old and a kitten. Take care of yourself and don't forget to have some "me" time.
A beautiful day after rain overnight and I have no washing to dry. DH and I have been to have the flu jab and I managed to get into the small local shop. I haven't been out for 2 weeks with the dog being poorly, we can't leave him alone in the house yet in case he falls over. He is doing very well and is loving the hydro-therapy.
The Arthritis is still very bad, but I suppose it will settle.
I'm about to go and delve in the freezer and see what inspires me for the coming week. DH requested egg and chips today, so that's easy enough.
No trick or treating going on here, but I hope everyone enjoys their evening.0 -
Good morning to all.
I'm semi trying to catch up after not really being here much for the past month or two.
((((((((((((Jayne and George)))))))))))) I've just found about about Paul's death. I'm so very sorry for your loss and deep pain. You will both be in our prayers.
Not much to report except too much going on right now. One major thing, but mainly the build up of a lot of little things. I keep reminding myself, this too shall pass. Not sure I believe it today though. I'm sorry for the moan.
OS today is trying to finish up laundry from the last 2 weeks. Long story not worth repeating but sorted now. I've got one load of bedding left to do and that should be it. Clothes are taking forever to dry on the airers inside.
I have no idea what will be for tea tonight. I think I have some sausages in the freezer so perhaps something with that. Who knows?
Hope everyone has a peaceful, or as peaceful as possible, day. ((((((((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))))) to those who want/need them.
Peyton xxxTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

Morning everyone,
No trick or treaters here as no children in the area...pity as I used to love the songs etc they came up with...apples and nuts were the treats provided, no money....mind you no consideration for nut allergies either!
Hugs to all, late start here and lots of washing to be put out and still lots to be done....think I will dump half the stuff in the bin, that should lessen the load....not the chirpiest this morning, as you will gather, no reason, maybe just that Samhain feeling!
No idea what is for dinner, lots of stuff which needs using in the freezer so will have a scrabble around in a minute.
Have a good day all

Having finally realised that I had missed something big (being new to the thread) I've tracked back and want to send belated hugs to Jayne and George. So sorry for what you've been going through this last few weeks.0

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0

Am about to ice my halloween cakes. Have made a fab orange coloured icing thanks to brilliant food colouring pastes.
Have carved pumpkin and made soup -yum.
Have also discovered that ds1 has nits too:rolleyes: Blimey he made a fuss about having his hair combed! I keep combing and combing mine but can't find any despite an itchy head.
Have also cleaned the back of my fridge and discovered the tray thingy was full of water with some sort of mould growing in it
It is turning into a pretty horrific day here:rolleyes:0 -
:hello: Hello all!
Having a restful day today as I think I've got a virus - sore-ish throat, glands up a bit, vertigo, sniffles, yadda yadda yadda......got some goodies in for any little callers this evening though.
I made the Lamb and Squash Curry from "River Cottage Everyday" on Thursday. It was delicious, but i should have made a half-quantity - i didn't notice until afterwards that it was to feed 6 - 8 people rather than 4Plenty for the freezer at any rate
We went across to Thurrock yesterday to collect my new chair from Furniture Village. It's a reclining leather one with a separate footrest. Rather a lot of self-assembly required though (if only it could assemble itself ). DH put the footrest together last night (a lot more comfy than the pouffe with heap of cushions on top, which is what I'd been using) and is now fighting with the chair.
I'm leaving the OS until I feel betterThank goodness for the freezer!
((((HUGS)))) to all who are sad, anxious, angry, broke, ill or have ill family members or friends.0 -

Oh dear! Our teenage DGS got them last year...he was on hols with us in France and made some new friends, they were playing a game in the swimming pool which apparently involved hugging the girls... both he and the girl he hugged had long hair....thank goodness the local chemist was open! It took a while to get rid of them permanently, and in the end his Mum cut his hair to make it easier to spot them! (It's grown again now but I think it will be a while before he hugs any more strange girls!)
DD said the comb did seem to work best, with conditioner.0
