The break away sounds lovely! Hope you manage to book somewhere nice. We are hopefully going away somewhere at the end of the month for a couple of days.

That sounds lovely Maria, if you can't book that one how about a log cabin somewhere, i've always liked the sound of a log cabin in Canada at Christmas, and just seen this website for log cabins for England https://www.logcabinsmap.com/south.php

I hope you find somewhere, you and your OH deserve a nice break away.

I hope things have settled down for your OH now. I was talking to my sister earlier, when she went to visit Edinburgh uni her & my mum got flights for £40 each, and they stayed in the Hilton there which was £50 for a night. I'm not sure how much it would be around valentines but maybe you could find something cheap?

My mum is *really* into making cards, she must have spent thousands and thousands on supplies. There are lots of ebay & etsy shops that have some affordable card making stuff, or of you have a hobbycraft near you they have lots of different forever friends box sets with the blank cards and enough supplies to make 5 cards for £5, so it isn't much different cost wise to buying them. I've just added you to FB, I'm sure you'll work out who I am, the name gives it away really lol :).

Glad OH is back with his parents, never good arguing with them. I would not be able to live with them anymore, moved out when I was 18 :). Norfolk is lovely, I stayed there a couple of years ago right on the beach, will try to find an old confirmation letter of the hotel and let you know. it was quiet cheap.

I did crafting before as well but wasn't worth it. And I wasn't good enough to get into business, ebay is jammed with all kind of home made cards unfortunately.

Any luck with BB? I just read Terms and cond, you can only withdraw £50 and if you top up your winning than you have to play your deposit, otherwise you break the contract. I think I give up, it doesn't worth the hussle.

Thanks for your links and suggestions girls :D

My parents moved to Norfolk about 5 years ago now, i had to move with them as had no money we moved to Cromer, the next week the house was up for sale again as we hated it! It took a year to get back to Chelmsford, but i hated it so much after a few months i moved in with my nan and grandad! They loved going there on holidays as its quiet etc etc but living there was a no no for us.

Im really not looking for anything to fancy for the weekend as will have a holiday in summer this will just be a little get away from the parents!

Are you going to stay in the UK for your break Wendz?

It was too cold to wash the car in the end, as our driveway is a slope and the water would settle into a frozen puddle on the road and path, so i thought i best not as its a main road we live on.

I was thinking i could start by making a card for OH for valentines :D

Yeah BB is rubbish now £50 min is way over the top when winning lines are normaly £5-£10

Its great to see what you guys look like on FB, its good putting a face to a name!

We are looking at somewhere abroad, maybe Canary Islands as they are still warmish this time of year and have some good offers. We will probably not end up going anywhere knowing what we are like.

A valentines card sounds lovely and a nice way to start.

Agree with you about the valentines day card idea, nice way to kick start your new hobby. I've always been into making my own cards, okay not made a single card since i was at pre-school, but it was always really good fun playing with glue and being all messy. OK so we've now grown up so wouldn't be like that anymore, but Hobby craft have some great stuff and every time i go in there it makes me want to get all crafty.

It would be lovely to go somewhere in the sun in cold january, hope you get to go wendz!

Ive just been on QVC and found a lovely card kit for £19 plus £5 p&p, £24 its a great pack! (plus 5% cashback!) It makes 12 cards in total so £2 per card which is less than i buy cheap cards for in the shops. And 12 cards will deffo last me for the year.:D

I thought it was best to start off with a kit and then start making my own designs after i get the hang of things.

Ive got my brothers and his wife's birthday on 17th feb...how freaky there the same day! So i will make theres first and post some pictures up when ive made them.

I got some basic kit from Argos, maybe look into that one as well. It was quite good, can recommend it.
Wendz, Canary Island sounds lovely-wish to go there! Our heating is kicking in every 10 min it's so freezing outside!
