Thanks all :A
A couple of areas just aren't functioning as they should - if you catch my driftSo I don't feel right. I just need to get out and exercise and eat properly and I'll be ok.
I bought the Anna Richardson Body Blitz book a few months ago, but am only ready to do it now. It's very healthy and foodwise is right up my street, as I'm not really into dieting for slimness but I find it easy to eat well for health. The commitment to give up sugar and wheat even for 2 days is hard for me - let alone 2 weeks - but I know I'll feel better and it'll give me the kick start I need.
Hope you're ok DT x0 -
Good Morning, what a beautiful day here! :j
Was too tired to type last night, just caught up with a few diaries. Not eating carbs or sugar is hard going for the first few days, but I've woke feeling great, so it must be doing me some good!
Spoke to the bank yesterday. The IFA advised to ask to borrow £10k more than we need, so I did and they said Yes! Hurrah! They are going to send out an offer in principle.
The problem is, that for the ported part of the mortgage in the interest rate is fixed below 5%, for the new part it will be 6.89% That seems horrendous in today's climate - though I know they could go much higher......sobering thoughts.
Anyway, I had a dream last night that we were telling some friends about our offer and how we were in limbo. They said "if it's the house you want an extra £5k is worth it to secure it."
Now, that was only a dream, but it's been on my mind that we put in the offer 2 weeks ago and after saying it's too low, but they'd negotiate - we've heard nothing. DH is adamant that we are not increasing our bid, he said someone else can overpay, but we really want this house......what to do.
Aiming for another NSD today, then need to update the sig tonight as I think more payments have gone out. Have a good day all0 -
Glad you are feeling a bit more in check, macgirl.
re the house - you will do what is right, whatever that may be, I am sure of that.
The main thing is that even if you up your offer, you will have thought about it, rather than just rushed in as soon as your original was rejected. If you make a considered decision, it is always much better than a "did it before thinking" decision!

Morning Macgirl..glad you are feeling better.
I agree with Hypno ..she always makes so much sense.
I'm sure you and DH will reach the right deciscion for the two of you.

Good evening.
Well today was D day for the Dream house. We upped our offer and sadly it fell short by £10k of what they were willing to acceptThe agent was very nice and said the vendors had a long discussion about it. They liked us and said they'd love to sell to us, but they would lose too much. Fair enough - it was always a long shot.
I'm absolutely gutted and know "it wasn't meant to be" blah blah, but I'm not interested in that - just for today. I feel sad and annoyed at myself that I've let it get to me, it's only a house after all.
I guess it's just that you have to imagine yourself living there - so it becomes a home that you've lost. I will get over it and in the big scheme of life it's not important, but I did cry all the way home from work
So that's my news. Tomorrow, I will have renewed vigour for speedier debtbusting so we're in a better position, but this evening I'm just going to watch Location, Location and feel a bit sorry for myself.0 -
((hugs)) but what is to say that anyone else will offer £10k more.....?

Thanks x that is exactly what people at work said. They are relocating far away and need to have moved during the school hols. They will be renting though, so there's no time limit on selling - plus they said they will rent this one out. I can't honestly see that as it is so perfect, I doubt they would risk tenants trashing it and potentially devaluing it.
As yet there are no other offers, but I can't think like that. I have to move on.....:(
All I want to do is eat a cheese sandwich on white bread, with a whole packet of chocolate biscuits, washed down with a bottle of white (there are 2 chilling in the fridge), but I'm on this bl00dy drop a dress size detox diet! :rotfl:0 -
What will be will be - if it is meant for you, then it will be yours. If it is not meant to be, then there is something better out there for you.
I've been struggling to keep the food under control recently - comfort eating really is a problem for me, so I empathise completely xxxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Well Hypno, along with 1000's of others, I have been inspired by you. S0d the silly house. I'm going kick this debt's butt, start the envelope budgetting (on the 25th), do a store cupboard and freezer inventory (tomorrow) and devise a rigid meal plan for the next 2 weeks (also tomorrow).
House or not, I need to sort out my finances and start doing it with gusto! If I put as much effort into that as I did looking for a house, I'd bloomin' well be DF by now.
Right off to bed, tomorrow is another day xxx0 -
And of course, in the meantime, the more organised you are, the more you pay off, the more you can afford for a dream house - whether it is this one or any other!
