    I have no doubts that they like the mobile companies are selling our details to other companies. A lot of companies in all sectors have been engaged in this over the last couple of years as there is no deterrent for them not to.

    Sorry for the delay.

    Terminating a call is not acceptable, unless a customer is abusive, the agent will receive feedback for this from their manager.

    This does not represent the standards of customer service that we offer.

    We had received information from an entry in to a competition, information from this form was used to contact customers regarding the competion.

    We can only provide customers information of what was given to us, we are unable to provide information of who sent this in or who filled this out, as we do not have this.

    We have acted on information provided by a member of the public, we have contacted customers and asked them to confirm their name, to confirm we are speaking to the correct person.

    I am sorry I can't give any more answers on this.

    I do not appreciate or accept the intimation that I was abusive during the phone call. Please retract this untrue, libellous and slanderous statement immediately. Thank you.

    EON can not simply delegate responsibility to a third party or to members of the public. EON stood to gain financially from the 'quote for energy supply' during the unsolicited phone calls and there is therefore a level of implied responsibility on your part.

    Please explain the relationship between EON and the aforementioned 'third party'. Does EON pay a fee to the 'third party' for information that is provided via the 'webform'?

    What checks do EON undertake to ensure they are not making unsolicited calls to numbers that are registered with the Telephone Preference Service?

    EON has a responsibility to keep customers' data secure as per the Data Protection Act. It is unfortunate that further to the recent BBC News article on this topic, there appear to have been further breaches which have affected a number of moneysavers who posted in this thread which you've neither tried to address nor apologise for.

    I wasn't referring to you, just in general that this should be the only reason a call would be terminated.

    Crabman, I don't think you will get specific answers to the specific questions you have on a public forum. In fact I doubt you would get any answers at all regarding certain questions you appear to be asking e.g. specifics relating to commercial relationships between two companies.

    I would suggest if you want some answers to some of the specific questions you ask, you put these in writing to E.On, who I am sure will respond to you.

    Unfortunately, as this is a public forum, you are only likely to get very general answers from company representives here.
