No, not really, because it ignores the fact that identcal flats sold for 80K differences within a 1 month timeframe!

    I'd call that pretty random.

If one of them had had a pair of designers living there who put in a 40k kitchen, a state of the art bathroom and a modified interior complete with designer touches thrown in, whilst the other had been wrecked by students who had punched holes in the wall, complete with dry rot, no central heating and a salmon pink bathroom complete with mould then an 80k difference could be explained couldn't it?

The former will often be bought by wide-eyed niave people with money, the latter by smarter people who see a bargain.

C'mon Carol, I'm not picking on you like many on here seem to do, but you must admit that the graph of house prices down this street pretty much mirrors what we've seen nationally? Right down to the peak to trough, then a rise in 2009?

And winking at me when being offensive doesn't actually make it any less offensive, you know. I'm not too bothered if I offend you carolt. It is evident that you are very offensive to others including myself and therefore should be in a position to be able to receive what you dish out. I still have the PM apology from you because I highlighted initially how you were.

You have no idea what I'm like in my job I've never claimed I have, I have always asked you if you were the same with your students as you are on here and expressed concern and dissapointment if you are so., and aren't likely to, as you live in Scotland. But if you move down south, I might consider taking you on as a private student - if you paid me a premium. I don't live in Scotland and I certainly would not wish to enlist your services even if they were gratis free. It would appear that although I am not a teacher and English was my poorest subject when at school, it is I that could teach you a thing or two. I'd expect you to treat me with the same respect I treated you, and with which I treat all my students. I don't have any time or interest in teaching students who are rude to me or to fellow pupils. Not usually a problem I have, I admit.

Anyway, if you are interested in remedial English lol  How about when you thought I was "far stupider than you gave me credit for and I pointed out it should have been "more stupid" http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=26150613&postcount=113, I'm more than happy to oblige. You will then be in a position to have a clue what you're talking about.

Could be a long commute at present, though.

I the meantime "I the meantime". Is this an example of your remedial English ability? , it would be great if when you disagree with the content of my posts, you could limit your discussion to the contents of my posts, rather than your 'opinion' of my professional abilities I try to, but when you demand an apology for something I have not done, it again raises the question of your ability to read and understand, something I would think is essential as a teacher. It is also very hard to try and stay on topic with you when you prefer to get into an argument and get off topic when your posts are queried. It really does seem that you cannot accept being wrong., which, fascinating though it may be, does rather highlight your inability to actually answer argument with argument. Please re-read my posts again, I have always provided answers with my arguments, not just anecdotal or examples with poor methodology

    Please see above

I sometimes don't comment on carolt posts/threads exactly for this reason, I don't want to be lumped into the group of 'bullies'. Other times I feel I should comment because otherwise the bullies have won and have marginalised carolt. To be fair though, carolt in turn often accuses people of being bullies when all they're doing is disagreeing with points she has made.

This particular forum is a bit of a minefield of fragile personalities and fractious alliances.

    OK. I'll bite.

They aren't quite identical are they?
Some eg the lower numbers 20-30 etc have an large area of grass in front of them ie their parking isn't on the road and they have a slightly nicer view etc. Going to google street view and its easy to see theyre not identical.
Of course I have no knowledge of the differing standards of kitchen, bathroom etc for the street.
  • Just so happens I live in W5 and I have no idea how the op can say London has gone back to 2003 prices.

Here is a road I know in W13 - it is called Loveday Road. It is a long road with a mixture of many types of accomodation; Flats, terraces and semis.

    Look at this road on
    http://www.houseprices.co.uk/e.php?q=Loveday+road&n=10

The Semis in this road cost £400k to £500k in 2003 and now cost £700k+ to £800k

If you are still not convinced try the post codes

    W13 9JU
    W13 9JT
    W13 9JS
