Yes....................jtaylor2008 wrote: »What about a garage? Would that be classed as SORN/off road?0 -
The post office can see if the cars taxed or not these days. Depending on the staff member they may not allow you to tax it early and most likely will not accept a printed insurance document.
Or did i get a fussy jobsworth one?0 -
The certificate the insurance sent me looked no different to the one i could have printed myself last time, don't know how they could tell the difference!0

Just to clarify - so if someone was to buy road tax on the 25th september - they would make you pay for all of september and this is where the extra month comes from?0

That depends whether the previous road tax disc was due to expire on 31st August or 30th September. If the latter then no, it would run from 1st October as usual.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

This is only available on brand new cars being registered not cars that are already registered as in the OP's case.

How do you prove a car is SORN?
If a car was parked in a parking space/bay/land near your home, how would it be classed as not SORN?0 -
You will have a letter from DVLA confirming its status.jtaylor2008 wrote: »How do you prove a car is SORN?
Worth noting that it only lasts a tear and is not transferable.
If you haven't completed a Statutory Off Road Notice then it isn't SORNed (if that is a word).jtaylor2008 wrote: »If a car was parked in a parking space/bay/land near your home, how would it be classed as not SORN?0 -
If you SORN a car do you get some kind of notice to display on the vehicle like you would a tax disc?
If not, then would they only find out it wasn't SORN'd by running a check on the car, and nosy neighbour had no way to know?0
