Yes, a warm welcome back Yellowbird; I lost my Mum a couple of years ago, so send hugs to you. Well done on starting again with SW - you'll find lots of support here, and you know your Mum would be so pleased you have picked it up again and chosen to improve your health. I hope 2010 is a successful year for you.0

Update on Falafels - Even pan fried in frylight they are still rank. I tried to make them nicer with some salt and pepper but not good enough. On a plus side the SW chips were lovely, will defo be making them again.0

Ha, typical - I just bought a tin of chick peas to try and make them! Probably give it a miss now and go back to the ready-made ones. Never mind. Thanks for doing the second testing, Kiwi.
I dont know if they would be any better if you put just one egg in the mix prehaps? They are weird, they seem to cook like cakes. I think I could get used to them but certainly not my favorite. I've come to the conclusion the the food in the SW magazines which looks so yummy is deep fried to make it look delish!!!!!! My SW chipc look nothing like those I've seen.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -

I made the SW chips last night and they were really nice...but don't look like the pics in the mag either.
First time I made them they came out a bit mushy, but ok this time.
I'll try putting a bit of seasoning of some kind on next time.
Saturday night is my fall down night....I have been good all week though, but as only allowed 5 - 10 sins for 1st 4 weeks doesn't leave too much room for saving up sins for the weekend.
I want to have something spicy with rice so might try an EE day, and will prob have a couple of glasses of wine. I don't want to sabotage the weight loss too much as I've a long way to go
Hope you all have a good weekend.

When I make SW chips, I never boil the potatoes first, I dont see the need. I just cut potatoes into strips, spray with frylight and then bake until brown all over. They look and taste brilliantThey have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

Maybe that's where I'm going wrong. I cut my potatoes in to large chips and par boiled them till just a bit soft then sprayed them the in to oven.
They were nice right enough, but I think I'll get maybe paprika or something to put on them for a change.

Hey everyone
Yellowbird - so sorry to hear your terrible news. Welcome back.
Well done to all the losers (heh heh) - very impressive.
I was a bit naughty today - got on the scales at the gym (naughty Rupe) but its lookiing like I'm on course for a decent loss this week - just got to hold it together over the weekend (going away for a night, and have ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL over what the meals will be - bad enough making a fuss about no wheat:rolleyes:).
Have to say - from somewhere I've found the desire to make good choices this week - properly, not just half hearted. A welcome change cos I haven't felt like this in a while:DOnward and upward - with the odd step to the side

) I love liver and fancied putting my slow cooker to good use.

hello.
i was so good today, and then at dinner I went and blew it all! We have OH's dad over for birthday dinner, OH made curry, rice and chips. I was great and made some SW chips, but of course, left them in the oven and forgot about them and they were burnt to cinders by time i remembered. was gutted. Had curry and rice, and a about 10 chips. I couldnt help myself once they were on the table.!!Carla-Farla!!
