Been away in the States with work all week and haven't had a minute to post! Had quite a productive week work wise and got to stay in a hotel and eat lovely food at someone else's expense
Which is just as well really as we are really at the last push to get our finances in order for the move.
I've a 4 more sales on Amazon which is great - not lots of money but nice to have. I also followed a few tips on the other pages and submitted 2 car reviews at £2 each and posted a couple of hotel reviews on Holidays Uncovered. This quarter's Tesco vouchers came in and I should have some extra cash
On the serious stuff the figures look like this:
Cash needed:
Deposit: £39750 (15%)
Stamp Duty: £7800
Fees:£1000
Removal: £800
Total £49350
Savings:
Current: £36500
Will have by March if savings plan falls into place! £46900 - thats £2200 for January, £2700 from February and March and an extra £2800 from taking a payment holiday on my mortgage. Phew
so............ we are short by around £2500 before we add on things like council tax for March and furniture etc which we need to buy. Oh has the details figures on his laptop but from memory once we added these on we were about £4k short. We're hoping to borrow this on a very short term basis from family as I should be due a bonus in March which should let us pay it back.........
We had hoped for a 20% deposit and a better rate of interest on the new mortgage but haivng done the figures it just wasn't achievable - if we borrowed from another property the interest would have negated the benefit of the lower rate, arg
The challenge from now to March is to close the gap as much as possible so lots of DVDs have gone on Amazon and books and CDs. Definitely a challnge but I think it's worth it
Wish me luck!
