Does anyone else find that they complete surveys only to get to the end to find that they don't qualify?
Didn't do too well on the not taking the car challenge...and drove to work this morning. I did have stuff to carry and a sore head but really it was just because my bed was too comfy. Hmm must try harder!Mortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. Blog link http://beautifulorpractical.blogspot.com/2010/07/oh-this-is-all-new.html :j0 -
Good Luck with the 100 day challenge:T0

Thanks!!
Was feelling quite pleased with myself as I emptied out the change jar to get a bottle of wine and some cake for tonight..............but the cunning plan was stopped in its tracks by the lady in ASDA who refused to serve me because I didn't have ID!! I'm 32!! Sure it'll be funny tomorrow but at the moment I'm just grumpy and in need of wine but feeling too p'ed off to walk back down with my passport..........Maybe it was money saving in disguise - maybe I don't really need wine :rolleyes:Mortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. They did it with me last year when i was trying to buy a bottle of whisky for my grandads birthday present. I was shopping at like 10:30 in the morning as my sister babysat while i popped to do an errand so i thought i would do it while no kids were with me, and they threw my plan right out of the water.
Worse when you actually 'really need' the alcohol in question. I now carry my drivers license in my purse luckily as i have been asked a few times recently. I think most shops have a policy of asking if they are not sure you are over 25.
Take it as a great compliment and if you are feeling inclined to saving, transfer the amount you saved to your mortgage. Otherwise, get your wine for tomorrow. ;-)
(I thought personally the person who ID'd me must need specs - mum of two including small baby who never sleeps through the night. Not very youthful at that point in life. Less so now they are driving me to white hair)0 -

Coming up to the end of a lovely weekend
We now have a nice big pile of stuff to go to the car boot sale next weekend. We went to check it out today to see if it would be worthwhile and it was huge! I really wish we had gone there the last time instead of going to a small local one but hey hoe.......
That's another DVD away on Amazon so another little bit for the pot
This week I'm determined to keep to my challenge of not taking the car so it's walking to work as much as possible. Promise!Mortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. Blog link http://beautifulorpractical.blogspot.com/2010/07/oh-this-is-all-new.html :j0 -
Yay, good start to the week - managed to walk to work! This is an achievement as I'm never normally organised enough to get everything together to walk on a monday. Feeling a bit rosy cheeked and windswept but I haven't had to out fuel in the car at all this month so I'm quite pleased
I think I might need to put some in this week but I'm still please I've managed to go this long without :A
Groceries are going quite well, except for caving in and buying a fish supper last night. Bringing it home I was thinking of how many days dinner I could have got for that.........oh dear I'm becoming obsessed! It was very tasty though!! On the upside I managed to use up the tin of mince and onions that came from OH's flat, with some carrots, onions and kidney beans topped with mash it made a passable variation of shepherds pie :T. Next on the use up list if the corned beef........

Well done Louba, you need to treat yourself now and again otherwise you get fed up. I've spent a fortune in the last few days as have been to pick up dh from Grantham and had a couple of nights there.
You're making good progress xx0 -
Thanks for the encouragement Evab, was feeling a bit demoralised this morning because of various unforseen costs that have thrown things a little off track this month and that really helped
I'm giving myself a gold star tonight for walking home in the p'ing rain :A I didn't have too much choice though as everyone had left by the time I finished and there's not public transport! Still.......18 months ago I would have got a taxi :rotfl:
Ohh just noticed I've got another star - funny the silly things that make you smile!Mortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. Blog link http://beautifulorpractical.blogspot.com/2010/07/oh-this-is-all-new.html :j0 -
