tesco Just arrived and the only thing they didn't have in was the GU, but that's ok, as I shouldn't have bought it anyway...
It was actually £36.43. a saving of £31.94!

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Hi
Just popping in to update my sig.
Did a huge shop at C*stco on Sunday which cost £153.65
This did include about 2 months worth of meats, dw tabs, wm tabs, toiletries, etc so does look scarier than it is
DH popped into A*da on the way home from work last nite, just for some milk but ended up spending £16.34 :rolleyes::rolleyes: Hmmm.
Anyway, this does mean I've got less than £30 left in the budget for the rest of Nov but should only need to top up on f&v and fresh stuff. Fingers crossed....I need direction to perfection...0 -
Did you see Anne Robinson mention on Watchdog that Tesco will be doing away with Buy one get one free ?? instead, you buy one and get a voucher to get one free at a later date?? Dont like the idea to be honest - would rather the item was half price so you could just buy one.....
She also mentioned about how the multipack / large packs of food stuffs are not always the cheapest option. I found this when I was in asda last week. It was cheaper for me to buy two boxes of cereal that had been rollbacked to £1 per box instead of the large box..... sneaky because I would always assume that the largest quantity available would be the cheapest.
Do you reckon the ticket 'to get one at a later date' is to encourage people to go back. For the people that only go to Tesco for the B1G1free.
I wonder if it'll have an online code so you get one delivered free.

I thinks it is to encourage peeps to go back but I think they're also doing it as half the people will chuck the voucher or loose it before their next shop then have to buy full price again. How long will the vouchers be valid for? Can't say I'm keen on the idea really...Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Spent £9.81 yesterday so £40.77 left to see us till 28th November- shopping for potatoes and veg tomorrow then think I'd better hole myself up till the 28th!! Only my 1st month of trying this and came in 5 days after my financial month started (did myself some damage to the budget in those 5 days) -still gonna do my damnedest to get through- seems difficult at mo as have no veg in and can't get any today- so seem to have only half meals- still veggies is the cheaper portion to need, so fingers crossed!!!
Good Luck All

Spent £1.19 today in Lidl, needed Paracetemol and saw they had Fairy Liquid reduced from (I think) £1.35 to £1-needed some anyway.
Made chicken pie last night for tonight's tea, just to roll out pastry and pop in oven and have with mash & some sort of veg.
Also took out of the freezer an individual plum crumble and a bread & butter pudding for tonight.
Planning to make Eve's pudding tonight with some nice Bramleys bought at the weekend.0 -
Aargh, just totted up my spends...and it is really not good!! Reached £300 already, out of £400 for the month..and....there are 3 weeks left of this month to go!:eek:
Mmmmmm...well I suppose I have got VERY FULL cupboards, fridge and freezer and have paid for all the organic veg boxes for the rest of the month, so really only milk and a few F&V to get when they run out. I have bought lots of bits and pieces that I will use to make Christmas pressies (jellies, chutneys and sweets), and will transfer their cost to the Xmas present list as I use them...so my spending may well go down!!!
Have just had my friend round to cut my hair - £12 for a cut and blow-dry (it has gone up by £2 since she last did it). She has done a really great job, it is now quite short, but well styled..I love it!! Have to walk the dog soon, so not sure it will look that great afterwards (especially if I put my wooly hat on)!!!It will be difficult getting used to having to faff about with it, rather than just let it dry on its own (it was shoulder-length this morning!). She will be colouring it in a few weeks time (getting rid of my few grey hairs!), giving it low and high lights, which will really be fantastic. That will cost me about £25...a great deal. :T
Right, off to take the dog out before it gets dark.
Have a good few days...may there be many NSDs involved!!

A NSD for me, it would have been one yesterday but I bought a 2nd hand butterfly table with chairs for £30 which I thought was a bargain.Debt free wannabe
Littlewoods - £214.82 (DD set up so 0%)
Very - £100 (0% on BNPL - 1/4/13)
CC - £2600/£3533.53 (0% until 1/6/14)0 -
Hi,
NSD today - not a penny on anything - grocery or otherwise:j
I have decided that next week's shop will be a "fresh" only shop - we have plenty of stuff in and CAN last without buying more
So its just fruit, veg, milk and bread - in my dream world anyway!
I'm sure I'll be back with a confession on the weekend!0 -

I think their reasoning behind it ultimately is to save waste, reduce carbon footprint etc. I do agree however that vouchers will get lost/mislaid. I manage to lose/leave at home the vouchers I get sent in the post so there is no hope for vouchers given to me at the till. I did also read though that its possible the voucher will be loaded on to your loyalty card. I think its all still under discussion so guess nothing is affirmative yet.
food wise, went in sainsbugs after my slimming world class and got organic onions 20p, chicken (stir fry pieces) £2.59 (reduced from £3.89) bagels 30p, croissants (30p) and some lovely posh breah also 30p (reduced from £1.39). Its interesting because I go in before class and look at all the reduced stuff but leave it a couple of hours and its even cheaper!! :j I was quite restrained today though and only bought what I needed/knew I would use.
I did have a home delivery shop coming on Saturday but I have delayed it for now because I am back to old habits of finding stuff to buy..... so Ive put it off until next Sat and then this weekend can hopefully sit down and plan menus to ensure that I buy just what I need.0
