As I predicted, today wasn't a NSD as I hoped - spent £2.52 altogether.
Did get a book out the library today though - "The Thrift Book" so that was my money saving 'thing' for the day. Hope to get some little hints and tips out of it, plus it makes me feel like I'm trying
Shopping to be done tomorrow/Sunday so must make menu and lists now. Have a lovely weekend, and happy non-spending!0 -
Glad your repair bill was manageable Helen :j
I've rechecked the freezer stock list and have included everything in a meal plan for this coming week; then I can turn the freezer off ready for the move; hopefully wont have to shop for much except milk, f&v until I do a freezer re-stock.
Good luck all... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I'd love to join in with this. What do I include in my budget? Is it just food? Or other stuff, too? Thanks.0

i everyone. I used to be a regular on this thread but since I stopped posting the spending increased!! So back to have another go.
Our household budget allow £450 for food, cleaning stuff, dog food, prescriptions etc. So this month I am going for £450 so I can keep a closer eye on what is being spent where and then take it from there.
I have a food shop being delivered later. I have tried Waitrose and was actually surprised by their prices plus no delivery charge and I got to use a voucher! Will update once I know the exact total.
Oh we are a family of 4 (2 adults, 6 year old n 5 year old, plus 1 puppy.0 -
Hello everybody
Today I'm going to make a list of everything in the freezer and cupboards - I've already chucked some stuff out of the freezer that I couldn't identify - waste!! - from now on I'll label everything and not freeze things that I just know I won't use.
I'm going to buy as little as possible today (frozen chips!) do a meal plan for a week starting tomorrow and bake some bread. I'm also going to make a carrot cake - I bought a 1kg bag of tiny carrots from Tesco last week and even as I was buying them I knew they would be really fiddley to peel and chop up and they are - I won't do that again! Anyway I WILL use them up.
My month starts tomorrow! I'm off to peel carrots..August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
very proud of myself have only spent 80 including meat and vegfor this week and next. got plenty of storecupbourd stuff and that 80 includes 12 bottles of wine! made small portion of stew that would have usually gone in the bn into soup and an almost out of date bottle of milk into White sauce for the freezer. think I'm getting into this!0
