Also went downstairs in fragrance shop, as it was big emporium, and through some knives about as well. We are talking canteen this time! The headed to card shop. Just back from a few days away with DD1.
1) Smooth travel out to Berlin, around Berlin, back from Berlin and even better home today on the trains in the UK!
2) He Who Knows met me from the station and took me to a garden centre for lunch where I had a most delicious Chickpea, Spinach and Sweet Potato curry.
3) The Lily of the Valley is in flower in the front garden.
4) Found my 'duck down' coat in Berlin, reduced to half price in a sale and then reduced again by 50% at the checkout when we paid so got a wearable 'duvet' for 79.90 Euros instead of 299 Euros.....Good, good, good, good, GOOD!!!
5) Being home again, doing home things and being warm because Berlin was ARCTIC!0 -
Ooo, I'd like a trip to Berlin, MrsLW.
Pleasures for today (Friday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) All washing finished!
3) 2 colleagues came to see me this morning, bearing a cake plus a present and card from the young man I used to work with. They stopped for about 2 hours.
3) Bigger son went in the forest on his bike.
4) Did very little during the afternoon.
5) Decided to recreate the curry we were given on Wednesday so made a dahl with chick peas. Smaller son not always good at trying new things (better while we are out, strangely!) but they ate masses of it, with naans.
6) Enjoyed watching Gogglebox then the Last Leg.
7) In bed with 1hwb and about to listen to the Now Show or the News Quiz, can't remember which it is.0 -

MHags hope you are feeling better now labyrinthitis sounds horrid
Well hopefully I've had my share of bad luck this week they say it comes in threes - iron ruined by cleaning kit from kleen ese - (managed to get a new one £4 in asda) boiler broke so have no hot water (waiting for heating engineer next week - have dishwasher & electric shower otherwise boiling the kettle) and bottom basket of dishwasher wheels broke (replacements ordered online) but can still use top basket - am grateful for small mercies as they say
So to offset that lot here's some recent pleasures
1. DP's arrived safely on Monday
2. new fence is now in position, garden tidied & lawn mowed
3. weather has been excellent for April. Dry days, cold mornings, sunny afternoons
4. blackbirds coming down to investigate tidy garden

No I has not gone soft from being down south too long either!
DD. Riyadh. Was in the town there once to see Al Shahab play some team from Bahrain. Cannot remember the score, but they did not like each other. After the match they were still at it, and we had to get back to Haradh. Only one way. Shove scarf out of window, foot down and think of England. Five screaming England fans, and they parted like Moses doing the sea! Cool there this time of year, though can still be wet. I worked at KKIA! You will go mout from there!
5 Just done the gas and electric, see posts passim. Blighters are only wanting £53 a months at the moment. And our heating is on 24/7 Shocking! See more.
4 With such prices, last night again I did open pan battered prawns for Ho So Ming stir fry. Proper Egg Fried rice, then left over veg, tossed into Ho So Ming sauce, and served with battered prawns. Tum was rubbed.
