    Pleasures for today (Sunday).

    1) A lie in!

    2) Sons went out with their father for his birthday. In those 3 free hours I managed to: clean bathroom from top to bottom, clean stairs, hoover, tidy up, wash up, put load of washing on and do final research into our mini break this week! And eat garlic mushrooms on toast (mushrooms being the only food sons don't like).

    3) Few games of football and watching bigger son make and use jumps for his bike.

    4) Did a bit of gardening.

    5) Decided to make sure everything in the fridge is used up before we go away. So made large batch of soup (mainly carrot), boiled corn on the cobs for the hens, roasted butternut squash for a recipe tomorrow.

    6) Had HM soup for tea with part baked rolls filled with everything else from the fridge!

Please excuse me not replying to all of your posts. I read and think about them all, them all and it seems rude not to commoment but my Internet time is a little limited as MrC is needing rather a lot if care at the moment. So I apologise if you have commented on my content and I haven't responded.

    Weekend Pleasures
    1. Two, full, glorious days on the allotment with my family.

    2. Sunshine, birdsong and happy thoughts.

    3. Created a new strawberry bed with runners a friend gave us. His strawberries are the best I've ever tasted, a very old variety that his grandfather planted originally - and he is 78 himself now.

    4. Allotments as an oasis of calm in a mad world.

    5. Sitting, drinking tea and watching a peregrine stoop to prey along the river valley. The speed and the power of the dive were astonishing. We know they nest on the top of an old cotton mill, but have never seen them hunting near us before!!

Today has been very wet and very cold and people in the house ( my children) are moaning about the cold...put a jumper on. The heating is not going on yet. Have had candles on and blankets on knees!

Work was fine. Got paid so even better! Also got to bring home magazines which otherwise I have to throw out. If they don't sell only the front cover is returned . I'm rather horrified at the waste but did ask if I could take home what I like rather than it going in bin.

    Hoovered and polished .

    Did some emails.

Had the most tasty chicken and vegetable pie with the most tasty roast potatoes and lovely sprouts and carrots for tea.

Gas bill and phone bill both in and both paid.

    Have a good Monday :)
  • Tour latest..

5 Steels. Done. Only large Haddock and chips this time.

4 Saw God Parents. Good chin wag. Had lunch.

3 Walked Maggie front this morning.

2 PM2DD Bignot packs his bags. Not up to the job. More later!

Back home. MSE connection tested. Seems ok. More tomorrow.

    Quick pleasures for today:

    1) Bigger son decided not to appear until 2.15 this morning :-/ but we all had a lie in.

    2) Porridge for breakfast.

    3) HM soup for lunch.

    4) Bigger son and my brother in law tested out how they are going to climb to a very difficult geocache next weekend.

    5) I looked after my niece for a bit. She repeats everything you say so we went to check on the hens and I said one was "massive", so she said that about everything after that!

    6) Smaller son did some air rifle shooting.

    7) Packed ready for holiday tomorrow.

Been busy so not able to post recently.

    1. Had a good few days away. It was relaxing and recharged the batteries.

    2. Been enjoying the weather and spending time in the garden. My parents had given me some tulip bulbs and they are looking lovely.

    3. Met a friend for coffee who I hadn't seen in a while and we had a good catch up.

    4. Enjoying wine and chat with neighbour and DH in the garden on Sunday.

    5. A friend of DS1 has had a healthy baby and so has my cousin.

    Was it bracing BoP?

    My 5 for yesterday.

    1. Lettuce finally appearing, hope James Wong's variety is good.
    2. A work task I was dreading went well thanks to delivery boys going above and beyond. An e-mail to their boss is called for.
    3. My 2 cats loving the milder weather.
    4. A new recipe for vegetarian cottage pie was a success. 3 portions in the freezer.
    5. The birds lining up on the fence waiting for me to fill the feeders.

    Bedtime .

Work was fine. Tuesday is a quieter day.

Ventured to the bedrooms of doom upstairs. DD1 has a friend staying overnight so was armed with bleach and the hoover! The pleasure is knowing it's now clean!

    Schmaltzy movie

Very nice lasagne, roast potatoes , roast parsnips , sprouts and carrots for tea.

    Catch up with my sister.

Morning all - hope you are all well.

Quick pleasures since Friday as i should be (as ever) working

    1. Beautiful ICT sunset on Friday - it has the best sunsets
    2. 15 miles walked on Saturday through beautiful landscapes that we had never been to before. got to Borth (from Mach, Frith) just in time to see the train leave without us and "had" to spend 3 hours in the pub. Or rather outside the pub where there are tables on the beach.
    3. Did the garden on Sunday - takes under an hour to do ICT garden :T and reinstated my Tower of London poppy that i always take in for the winter. I always think of my mum when i see it - i kind of bought it 'for' her, or I would've if she'd been alive then.....
    4. Good train back - got loads of work done.
    5. Had a curry with DS who was chatty (he'd been alone for a lot of the weekend).
    6. Up early and on the train to dads - again, got loads done.
    7. Dad was fairly chirpy and we had F and C (fish and chips, Mila - otherwise written, by me, as effancee)
    8. Broadchurch last night
    9. Treated myself to a bath this morning and watched last week's Hinterland (set in the vicinity of ICT)
    10. Washing is on the line, had sourdough, avo and bacon for brunch and yummy coffee (I drank my morning tea this morning and rather suddenly and unexpectedly threw up  so being able to eat and also drink coffee is a bonus. I think it was the milk in the tea and, no, I am not pregnant... :rotfl::eek:)

Have a great day all - I am off on hols tomorrow to Prague and then Germany (inc. Colditz..) will check in when possible.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
