    Some recent pleasures include,

Finally getting round to sorting through Bill's tack etc that had just been shoved away in the shed, not a case of out of sight out of mind so it was good to get it done. All leather was cleaned and conditioned, some will be kept just in case, some will be sold, his rugs will be washed and then taken to the horse sanctuary that I support.

Time spent in the garden, the sun is starting to have some real warmth in it and it's a joy to be outside.

Catching my little dog eating fresh compost out of a pot, her look of contrition made me laugh out loud.

Snap MrsLW on rhubarb, mine was roasted in the oven with ruby orange juice and drizzle of honey, delicious.

Mhags last post, so glad it went well and had to smile at Haggis dog sneaking some biccies.

    Mixed pleasures
    1. Watching the goldfinches pulling the ginger ninjas undercoat hair out of the hanging basket I tucked it into and flying away to line their nests with it.
    2. Imagining nests lined with soft doggy undercoat.
    3. Another glorious bunch of mixed daffodils from the allotment. Ours have flowered very late this year.
    4. A 'thank you' card from someone I don't know, and to whom I broke sad news about a mutual friend.
    5. Reading. Always a pleasure.

Mhags Hope you are able to identify the flower sender, and glad that you're own bouquet was so lovely x
  • Well not a golf miss, but BoP somehow missed out on his four yesterday. Trouble at the mill cursed that I think!
It looks like Haggis enjoyed the table while others were at the send off!
5 DD Don’t mention the soccer please. Enough said!
4 (Got it inn today!) Just love midweek, and downhill at the mill from here, but I was sent off with poached egg on hot buttered toast this morning. Proper food! Lemon concentrate with eau de faucet was wolfed down, as well as BoP’s happy pills. Well Jenny :heartpuls needs her regulation!
3 Got six months free of BT Sport with my new phone thing. But I ask you, cannot sign up. All fool and no bull.
2 Nite will watch the City of Man. Old Eric used to scout for them round BoP’s home parish and ran the supports coach for years.
And the rest of your day, will be …

    Thinking of you mhagster x
  • 1) the sights, sounds, fragrances and warmth of walking on a sparkling spring day, you can't pay for any of it!!!

    2) Massed ranks of daffodils wherever I go even along the main road verges when I went to town on the bus this morning, Wordsworth knew!!!

    3) Finding a lovely bright red and blue fleece jacket for Zebra in M&S this morning very reduced in the sale, also a cable knit navy jumper for me and then finding a 'Bear' hat in fur and fleece for my little oreo too in the Debenhams sale, great stuff!

    4) The first seedlings are up in the 'nursery' that is our bedroom windowsill, many tiny pots swaddled in plastic bags all hatching tiny seedlings that will become next years crops.

    5) DD1 just rang me to tell me she'd booked us a table in the Fernsee Tour (260 meter high tower) in the middle of Berlin to have lunch when we go at Easter and also an interior tour of the Reichstag Parliament Building woohoo, magic!

Mhags, I've only just seen the GoFundMe for OH. Done. I am so pleased you were able to enjoy the flowers and hope you get to the root of the mystery bouquet. I guess Haggis decided to get his share of the tea early. :)

Cheltenham week this week, so half an eye on the TV whilst doing other things....! My dream is that in 2022 or so, the Foxhunter's amateur race on the Thursday will feature our Boo, Angrove Mumsbuns.

    1. A little treat for lunch of a reduced price luxury roll. Nearly £4 for a roll...?

    2. Getting Sis's birthday parcel and birthday card off to her in the post.

    3. Brilliant night out at the live music club. Great music. Whilst I didn't win the raffle this week my friends did - I've had quite a few wins recently, so was quite relieved they had won too.

    4. I had a yen for mulled cider and wondered about how mulled wine spices would work with cider. No need to wonder. A!di still had some ready made mulled cider, reduced in price.

    5. A very expensive maths teaching specialist book I would have liked to have bought was offered to me free to review on Am@zon.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Thursday evening here. We had the oddest sky this morning. The sunrise was reflected in the storm clouds so we had a reddy / orange sky...then the rain started . Heavy for an hour but by now you'd never have known. Everything is dry again. Been the teensiest bit cooler but very humid

Today I went to the bank. Bit of a trial! Death certificate not issued until after the funeral ( can't remember if I've already explained this) and takes 30 days. So we won't get death certificate until April. Lady in bank said oh you need probate ...methinks I do not need probate. She was saying ' oh so young ' ' how dreadful' ' did he leave you financially looked after?' ' if you don't mind me asking where was the cancer?' I was quite glad to leave. I have to go back once I have certificate but his account is temporarily suspended, so that's something.

Then I went to solicitor to make appointment but ended up having free chit chat and NO I do not need probate!

I went and bought lots of games for the Palliative Care ward as our way of saying thankyou and hoping that other families can know the quality time that we were allowed to share.

I then emailed the ward manager to say thanks and to arrange a time to go in with our gifts.

I then had to call the ward social worker as she had called me yesterday. Had a chat with her...this left me rather emotionally spent.

Have just put a ready meal lasagne in oven. Friend had brought it over 2 weeks ago ...no high expectations! Have also made some potato wedges and shall even have veg! Radical!

Do not encourage Mr Haggis! My friend makes these perfect teeny tiny biscuits ,decorates them and they are just lovely. When we had a party to celebrate our citizenship last year he munched his way through a box then! I had been on phone to my sister, could hear him crunching on something ( which I thought was his ice block) .DD1 had taken a couple of boxes of cakes over to her work colleagues who had came to funeral but had to go straight to work...she had left biscuits in what OH called the Haggis Zone....about 70 little biscuits later! Bad dog!

Vjsmum & McC thank you both ;)

    Have a great day :)

Mhags Take time for you. Haggis was only thinking of everybody's waistline obviously.

    1. Lovely workday.

    2. Managed time in the garden after work.

    3. A colleague gave me a lift to my car so didn't need to catch bus and as I rarely see her we caught up.

    4. DS2 cooked toad in the hole for tea.

    5. A major chunk of DH accounts are now done. Certainly not a pleasure doing them but great that done.

    Pleasures for yesterday,

A warm, sunny spring day, perfick!

5 loads of washing done and dried on line, including the heavy mattress protector :j

Reading whilst sitting on the garden seat with my little girl snuggled up next to me, it's the only time she's allowed on the furniture so she makes the most of the treat.

Chilli and lime chicken for tea.

Several games of Yahtzee, too long since we had one of our tournaments and good to see Capt S laughing.
