Trying hard to think of 5 today...
1) mild and sunny, no rain
2) at a conference today, distressing subject matter but made me glad of the opportunities I've had and some of the life decisions I have made although there has been a price to pay
3) v grateful for 4G, which meant I could take my mind off things by dipping into MSE at frequent intervals during the day
4) TfL behaved itself today
5) pleased to be back at home and drinking a comforting bucket of hot teaValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Mhags - sending you and your family strength & (((hugs)))
My pleasures over last few days
1. Lovely day out on Tuesday to Southend on Sea - saw 2 seals in the sea.
2. Tasty fish, chips & mushy peas.
3. Had a work trial for part time job, start tomorrow.
4. Day out again with ds2 - lovely day in Greenwich.
5. Walking over 13,000 steps today.
6. Lovely sunshine & the joy of seeing children on Greenwich park with scooters, frisbies, footballs and watching them roll down the hill.
7. Walking through the tunnel under the Thames.0 -
Glad everyone is working well to help you, MHags.
Quick pleasures for today as am tired now.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Work came and went.
3) Through frankly mammoth efforts, managed to complete all the units of horrible coursework. Apart from 2 tiny parts, which I can't complete because, in 1.5 YEARS of studying for this qualification, the assessor still hasn't observed me at work... What a farce.
4) 2 supportive emails from bigger son school, from Head and HoY. Still difficult, caught smoking IN school (WHY? When there's so much space around it?!).
5) A jolly time at smaller son's parent evening. He has no focus and talks to people when he shouldn't. But doing fine and speeding ahead in history.
6) Spoke to my school friend and am going there on Saturday and she is going to wrench my application for Super Job into shape. I'll send it electronically once she's done then I won't have that hanging over me for half term.
7) In bed with 2 hwb and Mark Steele.0 -
Mrs LW your post made me well up. So well worded.
A bit late today but I wanted to pop on and say be kind to yourself Mhags. It sounds as if you have amazing support over the pond.- A tip run, after trying to donate items I gave in, and wonderful lad at the tip, not at all surprised by the items helping me when I was struggling.
- Loaded up the car with DF’s bits and bobs and set off on our usual weekly travels to him.
- Not a good day for him, he was cuddling a box of tissues determined they where actually his loud speaker, and other hallucinations, he didn't know where he was and I had to reassure him he was home.
- New and probably last care team for dad, seem very switched on and filled me with confidence nice to have for a change.
- Home to long email from DB and looking forward to talking with him tomorrow.

Morning. Look at the time. BoP herding nurff. Holiday.
Atam lass there VfM. Bucket of tea. News BoP has tails about pails as well!0 -
1. Not many people at work and only two of us having lunch together. It was great catching up on all her news and we laughed about silly things which others wouldn't have found funny. The most enjoyable lunch time I've had at work I think.
2. Conversation later with colleague I had lunch with and a couple of others which was entertaining.
3. DS2 cooked tea - pizza and I had a glass of wine with it.
4. Finished my book.
5. Had an email from my parents who are away at the moment.0 -

Jigsaws have always struck me as a bit strange mhags. You get a nice picture, you cut it into little bits then put it back together again. Hmmmm. Reminds me of the Smash ads. That said, quite like doing a family one over Christmas.
Yesterday was a loooooooong day so quick 5
1) 7am skype with student (he's in London but the other supervisor's in Taiwan). Pleasure was being able to do it in bed in my pink furry dressing gown (video was off!)
2) Forgot lunch so had to buy sarnie (1st time this year so not too bad). Pleasure was getting a large latte in my thermos mug for £1
3) Stand-by haircut. Pleasure is having that facility on the hospital main concourse.
4) 6pm skype then 8pm virtual class. skype went on rather longer than planned so didn't get home for virtual class. Pleasure? Mr piano cooked supper and picked me up at 9
5) dm phoned. She's met with dd2 who had been for the 'disastrous assessment day' where they'd said she'd 'underwhelmed' them. no, turns out the word they used was 'undersold'. Pleasure? need i say more!!!
Have a good day everyone. And mhags in my experience dogs are very good at chewing jigsaw pieces, making them only fit for the bin (the jigsaw not the dog!) :rotfl:MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Snorkers have been procured. They did not last long. Tea is being drunk. It is foggy at the moment. More later!

Kendal Mint cake has been purchased. Boots have mud on them. Fells are hidden in whispering fog.
No daffodils have been trampled on.
More later!0 -
Today is a day of firsts...
1) The first flamingo pink azalea bush in bloom in a front garden across from the entrance to the common.
2) The first Blackthorn flowers open in the sun on the footpath when Cookie and I walked and many bushes full of buds. I love how the flowers come on the bare stems before the leaves appear.
3) The first few celandines bright yellow little stars nestled in the grass on a sunny bank in Greenaways Lane.
4) An absolutely beautiful Hellibore in full flower and the most heavenly pale apricot colour, stunning!
5) Hot and cold running Robins, never seen so many in all the time we've been here the males singing territorially but beautifully from the highest vantage points they could find, just lovely.0
