    1) Day off work, woop!!

    2) Getting a lie in this morning.

    3) Hanging washing on the line as the sun was shining.

    4) De-cluttering!!

    5) Takeaway for dinner tonight.
  • 1) Another lovely walk with the Cookie Monster this afternoon along with Charlie the retriever and his mum and also her little grandson in his buggy, not one shred of a curly eyebrow was raised and she behaved very well all the way back home.

    2) Cookie came bounding down the stairs when I picked her up and jumped up at me, lovely and when I popped her back into the flat she didn't run back up the stairs, she stood looking at me wagging bless her, was lovely too!

    3) We've given the blackberries a very good pruning this afternoon and rigged new posts and wires for them that pull them off the increasingly rickety fence that belongs to the bungalow on the other side. If they have to replace the fence, and I think they will it won't damage the blackberries, can only be good!

    4) He Who Knows took Cookie out this morning and I went right through the house and got all the ironing done before he came back, routine as normal, super stuff.

    5) Nothing to actually DO this evening, he's gone to be a pyromaniac on the allotment (much weedage to burn) and I am going to have a nice warm shower them get into my jarmies and dressing gown and read my kindle, blissful!

Seems we are all benefitting from this wonderful sunshine we are having.

    1. Had three loads of washing out on the line this monring by 10.30am. All dried

    2. NSD - car did not even leave the driveway!

    3. Did a huge basket of ironing and had it sitting airing off in the conservatory giving a lovely scent.

    4. Mowed the lawns and strimmed around - looks all very neat and tidy.

    5. Sat with a cup of tea on refurbished garden bench this afternoon adminring all the work done through the year. It's great when you can sit back and reap the benefits of that hard work :D

    7. Received confirmation today of our holiday apartment booking in Florida next summer, it looks so nice and hopefully not near any alligators!

EVERYWHERE in Florida is near Alligators :D but they are very, very docile. We walked our 6 and 8 year olds past a whole line of them and they didn't raise an eyebrow (alligators or kids). The only attack I have heard of was when someone fell off their bike on top of one  They survived though...

Crappppppy crapppppppy crappppppy work. it's going to have to go.....

Glad DS has settled into 6th form DforV - ours seems to have too. He is getting a bit chattier but isn't playing the x box so much - that's what causes him to be fairly foul at times. he has taught himself to play guitar and is rather good, too.

Glad to see you have a new furry friend, Mrs LW

    Pleasures recently

    1. Pottering about Sarfend with DD. It's a nice town. We had a good lunch at patisserie Valerie. I had omelette and chips - the cakes were soo tempting though
    2. Niece (not FN, though she is still rather special) has got 1st class hons in her degree. it is her 2nd degree cos she decided to take up nursing once she finished her first one in a different subject.
    3. Crappppy work, but still good craic with colleague
    4. OH gone on hols - not a pleasure as such (apart from the break from the snoring :rotfl:), but I am glad to see him enjoy himself. It's a bit of a train crank holiday he does with mates every year - FInland and Sweden this year.
    5. Crappppy work means I have finally started the exit strategy. it may take some time but i have changed my mental state and so it will happen, unless there are some drastic improvements....

    Have a great weekend all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I'm so pleased for you MrsLW, a dog is an essential part of the family and sounds like Cookie will be part of yours, albeit extended.

    1. The weekend passed very successfully, have been asked to speak at several forthcoming meetings/conventions, one on the Isle of Wight next month which will be a trip down memory lane as I lived there for a time with my grandmother when I was small.
    2. Teen sitting this weekend while DNeighbour is taken on a surprise birthday trip with her OH. Her DD is going to the dogs with friends tomorrow so I'm playing the 'Mum's taxi' role. It's a long time since I did that.
    3. DGS3 is going to Sheffield on Wednesday, he's already got himself a job in a local restaurant so although he's in halls he'll be getting a dinner every time he works. DGD2 starts a foundation course at Bedford, my son-in-law works not far from the college so he'll be 'Dad's taxi' to save her the fares. My DGC will go far!
    4. A barbecue for tea after DNeighbours and I had a mowing, trimming, pruning fest. Sprinkled some herbs on the charcoal so the chicken fillets were very tasty. Hm garlic bread and a big bowl of leaves filled us up beautifully - not so much that we couldn't manage a trifle DN had made though
    5. 'Bought' a replacement microwave using some nectar points after the old one went out in a blaze of glory, literally. It was quite spectacular!

    Sweet dreams :)

It is 6.15 pm and still daylight! Stunning sunrise this morning, think it's been a nice day in between but I've been at work.....so who knows!

Yesterday, I had a fabulous morning at work, baking away to my hearts content....then BOOF! Main colleague (MC) had a bit of a strop as she sometimes does and told boss she quit. He didn't believe here, I had to act as go between and mediator and frankly I'm over it! She does this every now and again, think she will be the barista who calls wolf.....anyway, ad placed today for new staff. She's not really quit......but I don't see why he should pander to her emotional outburst and mood swings! ( she's just young! ) so ......I shall watch this space to see what's happening!

We had a new girl start today, very quiet! Hopefully first day nerves! We were not particularly busy until 2 minutes till clocking off time when we filled up, I stayed an extra half hour and OH had another coffee whilst he waited :)

I have 2 catering events next week and all they want are my cakes! I'm quite delighted. So I will go in on one of my days off and bake and bake and bake and be paid for baking and baking! This suits as I have next Sunday off so means I don't lose a full day's pay in the week.

Did my wifi fit this morning before work, then nice drive to work, the city skyline that I see at 2 vantage points as I drive to work was absolutely bathed in the light from the sunrise....I always say good morning City when I drive ( strange but true!) so told it , it looked stunning this morning.

That's about all , do have a loveky weekend :)

5 Bagged another chuffer! Up with the dawn chorus, not the Sparras! Apologies. Flask of tyea. Job Done. Rubs Tum!

4 Off to Cribbs, John Shop. Bar Guns removed from the sales floor. Bagged. Then me and BoPsie did the things.

3 Yeah, Mes and BoPsie had breakfast in John's top floor caf!. Well, the media graduate students do have to earn a crust and how many does it take to put a breakfast through the till! BoPsie had no mushroom, but extra brown hash. Oh dear, no compute! It is a breakfast! Washed down with Tea. Rubs Tum! And we was out before the robotic connedsumer arrived. Good show.

2 Tonight we will be watching a film possible a Marylyn one. Nice. Keeps BoP chuckled! Rubs Tum.

I have two identities, this one and the other one. Do you think I have a silt personality!
  • 1) It's turned into a stonker of a fine day down here after a damp and dismal start, it's gorgeous out there!

    2) Just back from another walk with Cookie, she's so friendly and likes other dogs, such a difference to Docky who was decidedly grumpy, meeting new people every time we walk out, lovely.

    3) Trip to town this morning and finding a Postman Pat Van in a charity shop for my Zebra child, PP is his favourite!!!

    4) Sat with a friend on the bus and put the world to rights on the way in to town.

    5) Skyping with DD2 and Zebra later this afternoon when he wakes up from his nap.

Thanks VJSmum for allaying my fears that I'm going to get eaten by an alligator (I used to have nightmares about the creatures, so it's a big thing I'm doing for DD to take her somewhere where they like to hang out!)

    1. Sunshine!

    2. Went for a drink after work last night with very fun colleagues who are all approximately half my age, but thankfully they all say (to my face, lol) that I don't feel like I'm old enough to be their mum, and I certainly don't feel it either!

    3. Managed to survive the first week of term - with plenty of child violence, shouting, tears and parents accusing me of lying about their cherub's antics (sigh) - but I'm still smiling and am SO thankful to my amazing colleagues for their support :) Roll on the next 38 weeks of the school year....

    4. The Head has agreed to all my fun ideas for boosting the status of French in school this year :):) He was also impressed that I went to see him on the first day of term and got events in the diary!

    5. Looking forward to taking DD out to a archaeological dig's open day tomorrow - love a bit of Roman glass and Saxon whatever, lol.

    6. Feeling so much more chilled about my fantastic career than this time last year! What a difference a couple of years has made to my life :)

    7. Happy with the LParty's result - I'm not a member of any political party as each time, I choose my vote based on the party's manifesto and recent history, but I'm pleased that there is now likely to finally be a real opposition party
