Such a tragic loss of life sparrer so sorry.
Alcoholism has been a scurge on my whole life (mother, grandmother and ex).
Heart has been broken more times than I can even remember.
I wish freedom for this young soul and that her family may heal xx

    Happy pleasures.

    1. Yummy packed breakfast of chocolate crepes on train to Brighton.
2.My astounding good humour and positivity when arriving in Brighton to pouring rain wearing a summer dress and flip flops. Wondered into primarni and purchased a long sleeved top and trainers. Please may I use your changing room, cue one sleeveless dress rolled down to make a long skirt with matching top and cute trainers. Transformed warm and dry for less than a tenner. Still didn't cry even when sopping wet bag disentergrated in my hands .
    3. Excellent free bus service from station to racecourse.
    4. A wonderful fun day put on for the kids where every ride was free, face painting and lots of side shows all free. My girlie's had a wonderful time, we didn't win a bean but the sun(eventually) shone as bright as my babies smiles.
    5. Ended my lovely day in bed with tea biscuits and les Mis!rables 2012. Who knew Hugh jackman had such a voice
sobbed my little heart out at the end.
    Hugs to all xx

sparrer that's sad news to read.

Well yay! It's Monday afternoon, work is done and dusted until Friday and I have the next 3 days off , just for me, no plans , no pressures, no expectations!

Arrived at work train station in daylight this morning, lovely feeling , feels like the darkness of winter is almost behind us...in the morning anyway and starting to draw out at nights too.

Kept busy enough but not madly busy which was nice. Main colleague and I had a good vent this morning. One of the girls is not pulling her weight and everyone getting a bit fed up! Anyway....not my problem for the next few days!

Haggis dog a bit brighter again, hopefully medication doing its job.

My brave DD2 has reported a boy who has been bullying / harassing her. School has taken it seriously and will deal with it. Last school would brush it under carpet and put it all on DD2. She is not the only girl to be harassed but the first to report it officially. Others have told the counsellor at school ( as did DD2 ) but due to confidentialty issues she( counsellor) couldn't take it further unless girls allowed her to , my brave girl has.

Will probably make macaroni for tea ...as it's quick and easy..

    Have a lovely Monday :)

3 days away to caravan with DD3, DS and 2 friends = fun and hard work in equal measure and glad to be home tonight! Loved catching up about exam results - crazy that 6th forms are so picky about getting in - does no one get that kids (just like adults) sometimes need a second chance!

    So pleasures:

    1. Time spent with kids doing some proper OS things like playing cards and snakes and ladders (rain stopped play outside for half of the weekend) DS beat me at chess again!!!

    2. More OS fun in the sun this time-including a quick paddle in the sea and donuts on the pier!

    3. Loved the big weather - rain battering the roof of the van and watching the lightning! Makes me feel small and part of something bigger!

    4. Managed to keep spends down by lending friends half of my spending money as they had a slight cash flow problem (she has just had to retire due to ill health at 47 but pension people taking an age to sort! So sad!) Got the money back today - so enforced frugal activities meant some creative, fun and free/cheap activities!

    5. Glad to be me - not perfect but a lot better off (not just financially) than some and I need to not take this for granted! But do need to make an effort to get and stay fit and healthy and look after myself!
  • Oh. Mhags. I saw a belter in hovel last week over children, running riot etc. Fashion couple, with accessory child. Child, brat, female specimen, agefd approx 6. Screaming on fizz bottle. Time around 8:45 in the post meridian. Mother father could not care less about their mouthing offspring. Other boy aged about 5, well behaved enjoying his tea. Boy gets up, walks to girl. Slaps her, says shut up. Rubs Tum and returned to chair. Charisma or what.

Fashion item looks round to ser who slapped her daughter. Pointedly she realised it was one of her peers. Demanding she stood. Barman advised her it was time to vacate.

Me and other chap chuckled. The boy, star man.

Sometimes. You just need to give them what for. Quick and get over it.

Oi sparra. I'm in darkest Hertfordshire without decent food. Help!
  • 1) Was poorly me yesterday BUT better today!

    2) Have just been pruned by the hairdresser, can see again Hoorah!!!

    3) Couldn't pick produce yesterday because of the rain so wen't up the garden this morning and enjoyed picking and freezing what I picked.

    4) YS Sausages found in the shop this morning so they will be supper tonight, yum.

    5) Going in a minute to investigate holidaying friends windfall Bramley apples, with luck I'll be able to do a big batch of apple puree to put into the freezer, I love this time of year, hard work sometimes but that 'all is safely gathered in' feeling is priceless!

OK. We have escaped the Holiday Inn excess. Carp. Take it from BoP. Absolute Codswallop.

Off in steak house. Gone off menu. Fillet. Rare. Two flat mushrooms and two grilled toms. No chips.

PM to Sparra. Don't come south. They only eat with their fingers!

Does anyone south of Baldock eat anything but bloody burgers.
