1. I worked from home as a couple of medical things today, and nicely had pre done most of the work, had the roar of spitfires and hurricanes in the sky and was able to see them as well from the comfort of looking up in the garden.:):T
2. Went for a check-up and medicine review and to quote the doctor the best so far, result and they have added some medicine to my repeat prescription.:T
3. Paid in a cheque.
4. Took time to re update my cv
5. A pasta bake for dinner, and a seafood salad prepared for the snack later tonight.:o
6. Received a dress today, safe to say it was packed up and taken straight back up to the post office, free returns. Wow it looked terrible.
7. A little bit more tidying out, DH sorted 10 cans of “off” paint thrown, and I sorted more clothes these where binned as they didn’t shift at boot fairs either. Nice to be making progress and starting to see progress but still so much to do but slow progress :cool:0 -
2 days of pleasures.
Yesterday :
1) Plumber round to firm up arrangements for replacement hot water tank.
2) Dad took us to the station. Found a geocache.
3) Journey to London ok.
4) Found geocache at Paddington and free cola was being handed out as a promotion. Sons pleased!
5) Natural History museum. Don't know what's going wrong in there but it was ridiculously hot. Only stayed 30 mins or so.
6) Homeless man on the train suddenly stood up and asked for money (sort of explained what had happened to him) and I handed him some and so did 90% of the carriage!
7) Good train to Harwich then watching sons dance about when they saw the ferry! Had an explore and stayed on deck until it was well under way.
Today
1) Off ferry and on to Amsterdam by 2 trains.
2) Hired bikes. That's all sons wanted!
3) The driving /cycling/mopeds are insane. Pleasure was that I'm fine despite being hit by a car that decided to use the cycle track.
4) Lunch in the Vondelpark.
5) Cycled to station (5 miles or so) then got free ferry to North Amsterdam. Not a huge amount there but chanced upon an enormous food shop/wholesalers /farmers market thing so had tea there.
6) Ferry back again and lady had a conversation with me. Her side entirely in Dutch which intrigued sons. My half was pointing, German and 2 words of Dutch. She was from Friesland and visiting her new granddaughter.
7) Geocaching in Vondelpark.
8) Put telly on in here to settle sons down (English football match with Dutch commentary) and smaller son fell asleep!0 -
1) Two wash loads dry outside, ironed and put away this afternoon.
2) Helped He Who Knows put up posts and a new wire system for the blackberries to get them off the back fence.
3) Replacement purchase arrived from the E.Bay seller, amazingly quick and good service to replace the broken one that was delivered last week.
4) A cooler day today, much more comfortable to be in.
5) The cup of hot chocolate I just had to actually warm me up, haven't had to do that in a while!0 -

Hope you're fine Froth and not feeling bruised today.
1. Roast chicken for tea with all home grown veg. It was very tasty and also cooked bread and butter pudding to use up some bread and the remains of a packet of raisins.
2. DS1 went to Biggin Hill to watch the spitfire and hurricanes. He had taken some good photos on his phone and some video of them flying over the top of his head. He watched from a nearby field.
3. Went for a drink in the local pub.
4. Slept well which has been a rarity for the past few years.
5. Ironing done.0 -

2.Em from spookymen's chorale's ST. & likely to be off again taking same guest, to volunteer at venue. Will be so vg for guest and a time to relish.
3. Drenching rain, grey, cold, all-round foul yesterday. Had exact same hot choc thoughts, Mrs LW, but resisted. However, emporium rtc's supplied 'essential'[not] substitutes/accompaniments, all sorted and freezered now. Ditto their air-dried Hampshire free-range bacon - took all the back and streaky at £4/kg[around £5 all up, about a dozen slices of each]. Best bacon for & and savoury take-a-platery future baking.
4. Monday was nsd/npd. Just as well, 'cos....
5. These were literally 2 a penny in &'s childhood general store.

Ancient 24p credit from prev. order: 7 Dec 2004! was duly applied. & astonished - as if that nihilates original sin :-).
6. Duty of care mtgs shape-shifted yesterday. Another Man Plans, God Laughs wrecking ball scenario. V.glad to catch up with x. Several hours of old work at old coalface with y and z, 'things fall apart, the centre cannot hold....'. Changing times. No, not investing/working in that co-sphere again unless joint admiral of fleet with x, thankyou. x agrees. 'Those 18 golden mths' are legendary gold standard now, the template.

Frith - what was driver's reaction? All sounds great with you and sons revelling in so much. Pity you're not a great choc phan - you're in Droste country :-)

Quickly as it's bedtime for me.
Day off #2
Fabulously relaxed day off.
Washings on, washings out , washings ironed.
Seedlings sorted out and admired.
5 hours of total solitude ...just me and my dog boy and some UK radio listened to.
So much snorty laughter with DD1 as we looked through old photos.
Rather tasty chicken curry made with extra for the freezer.
Bag of stuff taken to salvos and pile of mags taken up to swap box at library.
On the eve of my wedding anniversary watched the video! Laughed and cried! How young we were , how slim I was...hair was natural colour ( it's still natural colour but 'helped!' ) , my dad was alive, he died just weeks after our wedding, my niece and nephew were just totes and my son looks like his dad from the side! Lovely day!
Enjoyed the sun through the window although it wasn't very warm outside,it stayed dry
Have a good Wednesday0 -
Hi all
Jealous of spitfire / hurricane viewing
Glad you are OK, Mags - enjoy Amsterdam, marvellous place
Dunno when I was last here - again
Pleasures as accumulated
1. Lovely walk on Sunday - third "new thing" done in the week in Ice cream town. After 19 summers that's good going.
2. New picture bought from WI art show in Harlech - put up on wall. You would never know it was an amateur. Also good walk in Harlech - second "new thing" of the week
3. So depressed at the thought of coming home on Monday - i came home on Sunday instead. Was the right thing to do - i'd have been fit for nothing.
4. Watching a man on the train who was "on something" get talked down by a complete stranger. Bloke was brilliant
5. Work was OK, i am ploughing through - bribing myself with "an hour on an hour off" kind of mentality
6. nice coffee and catch up with friends yesterday
7. Had my hair chopped "just do what you would do if it were your hair" said i. So a couple of inches lopped off, now a chin length bob - I likey
8. An evening of baking - sourdough bread, banana loaf, raw chocolate and nut "log".
9. painting DDs chest of drawers and bookcase - she is back in a week and a half, it will be harder to do if she is in the room so setting to now.
10. DS being quite chatty for once - big results day tomorrow.
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0
