5 Well after the infusion on Monday, mill cookhouse conjured up another emulsion of flavours. Leek and tatties soup. Sits. Rubs tum!
4 Thright day at the mill. Got test plan ready. Work to do! Good! Checks time sheet pennies due again on Friday. And tax!
3 Had exhibition of classics at mill today. And a tiger cub was there as well. Lovely stuff. Well kept as well.
2 Night BoP may have some chilli and rice. Rubs tum in anticipation.
When the fairies came, we tilled the land and they saw us as poor us. When they left, they had taken our land, and we were poor.0 -
Evening everyone :hello:
A lovely day here. Took the class I cover on a Wednesday afternoon to the woodland area above the school. Fantastic to have on the doorstep.
Pleasures for today:
1) Slightly more money payable from TopCashback. :j :j Ok, so it's 52p, but better than nothing.
2) Another NSD. Yes, that's 3 in a row! I know tomorrow won't be a NSD as I need to buy petrol, otherwise I won't be able to get to work... The old chicken and egg scenario!
3) Went to my excellent Body Balance class. Shame that I'm not particularly flexible... yet!
4) Stir fry for supper, washed down with home grown strawberries!
5) Invited to an engagement party for a cake club friend. Very exciting!
Need to try to find the cat. She won't be impressed if I close the french doors with her on the wrong side, although she DOES know how to use the cat flap... honest!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Hugs PK and family, hope today is going well.
1. Sunshine!
2. Had a meeting about taking on subject leadership next year, looking forward to it!
3. DD's school play yesterday was awesome - and she was so proud of herself (as was I), for confidently delivering her 4 linesIt's the first time she's agreed to have a speaking part and she was so excited to be amongst the other girls
4. Despite having eaten like a horse over the last 2 weeks, I haven't put any weight on, phew!
5. My glass course tonight was fabulous, and last week's creations were gorgeous, even if I say so myself! DD is going to love her trinket dish0 -
Best day today!!!
1. Tried to forget that it is my Birthday - but no one would let me!!! Even the sunshine came out to celebrate with me!
2. Breakfast in bed - made by kids with no fighting!
3. Flowers - 3 separate arrangements plus the roses over the arch going into work - all different and all lovely!
4. Free main meal for me and bottle of prosseco courtesy of birthday email - followed by Mcd's Ice cream Sundaes (4 for less than £6 compared with restaurant 1 for £6!!)
5. Work - busy with lots of meetings and problems but finished off by being presented with a big cheque (10k) by a relative of a patient - brought back fond and sad memories but a reminder of why we do what we do!
and today was so full of pleasures so:
6. Rev mother's gift was to pay for a cleaner to do a big clean - amazing gift! Just need to find someone brave enough to tackle it!
7. Spa day from DD2 to look forward to when dissertation done
8 . Beautiful card from DD1 saying I am her inspiration - made me cry!
9. DS has made me a trowel in DT in school - bought me some gardening gloves and handing baskets with his own money! and has been absolutely lovely!!!! Beautiful Boy - and I need to remember this when things are not so easy with him!
10. DD3 read a book to me when I was putting her to bed - 'guess how much I love you' - my favourite children's book since DD1 was born! It was lovely!
What a difference a year makes! This time last year I was a mess, I hated my job and I thought I might loose my DS forever! I will never let myself be that person again!!!0 -
1) bought myself a bunch of fairtrade roses for the office. they're lovely yellowy orangey
2) got lift home from friend then walked the dogs. light rain. i love walking in light rain
3) lovely supper - pasta and cheesy sauce made from quiche innards (the quiche left over from satuday's party)
4) got xoh to drop my accordion off at friend's house early cos she needed the car. that meant i could walk (it's 40 minutes without accordion. i suspect with accordion i'd need a wheelbarrow!)

Blessing counting time.
Dr C's tablets kicking in and the return of the Dr C. I know.
Please, dear Lord, no more false dawns..
I had a letter from the agents for HMRC who are checking my Disabled Persons' Working Tax Credit Claim (have had this since 2010, my turn to be checked this year).
They wanted 101 ( ok 24) bits of paper referencing this, that and the other.
And, thanks to my wonderful huge stretchy file-case, and umpteen files online for e-docs, I had them. I have posted them. Even the contract of work from 2012 they demanded to see.
Right... Now having demanded them HMRC agents, plough through that lot, and get said claim checked and processed, please.
Not being rained on when out on the trike.
A wonderfully uplifting chat with my oldest male friend who is mutual friends with my oldest female friend. She is over in the UK from Oz as her Mum is terminally ill.
She rang him and he then rang me in joy at the chat they had, he was so pleased to reconnect.
Freebies. Including a new top to wear.
Then saying 'stuff it' at the internal voice saying 'you don't NEED new clothes' and ordering two very heavily discounted and rather nice tops online.
Going shopping, popping a few treats in to the trolley and using sense with others. I know that certain treats will just make me feel bleurgh now after the initial hit.
So, to anyone who was in Ald*, N.A. this afternoon, my staring at the Tunnocks Caramel Wafers and then walking away was me mentally recreating the experience of tasting one and getting the bleurgh feeling.
It worked.
I did succumb to the B@hlsen looky-likeys and the Shlo£r looky likey. I recreated the experience and definitely still wanted these.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Sounds like a lovely birthday judi
PK thinking of you and yours just now x
McCulloch thought if you the other day , our posties do their rounds on either motor scooter or bycyle, they travel on the pavements, however the other day saw a postie on a trike!
Well, today couldn't have been any different from yesterday if it tried.
Yesterday was quite awful. A pedestrian was hit by the train i was on in the morning and we were stuck on the train for an hour before we were allowed off. It was just dreadful. I then had to walk back to previous suburb through parklands ( and thankful it was now daylight and there were some dog walkers) where OH picked me up. Lots of routes closed as train was stuck on level crossing. My heart goes out to the family affected and to the driver and his family.
Got to work an hour and a half late, we had a power cut, we were busy , it was just awful and I was working my first full day in months!
However $107 commission from Saturday's scary shift.
Came home to a parcel from friend in Sydney , Percy pigs and some very tasty chocolate . Lovely , couldn't have came on a better day.
Today , was my day off.
Phone call to friend back home.
Eyebrow wax...ouch but so much better.
3 pairs of black trousers bought in salvos, will be ideal for work.
Then road trip with OH, we went to a pretty country town we like called Healsville , I had some nice-ish pumpkin soup for lunch, then we went on a 3 hour drive around the windiest mountain , the view from the top was .....zilch! Thick freezing fog meant we could see nothing!
Back down and stopped at the opposite end of Healsville for a hot chocolate and a I had a jaffington.....an orange / almond lamington type cake. Sat in front of log fire . Saw kookaburras outside.
Saw loads of kangaroos.
Home
Have a lovely Thursday ...I'm psyching myself up for 4 full days at work...first in a while.0 -
And that's the fire alarm test just now, means we are outta SparraLands. Homeward bound. After the idiot scouser last eve with a perfume of profanity, it is POETS Day. So tomorrow you know what that means. Nest here BoP comes!

Yet another post lost :-(
Pleasures (in brief this time) over last week or so.
1) Son has operation date. He does not know this yet and I doubt he will agree to it but it seems like progress that at least things are organised.
2) Test drove a series 3 Landrover and have another to see.
3) House reasonably clean and tidy.
4) Mountains of strawberries from the allotment.
5) Have ordered bigger son a new bus pass though he has been cycling down to school (7 miles each way).
6) Birthday today and a big one at that. This is the first year I have been unable to book a day off but it has been OK so far. Tea party at parents' later and my school friend is travelling up (from Oxfordshire) too.
7) Had a trip to my ancestral home (Kilpeck castle!!!) last weekend and also looked round the Norman church. The stonework is worth a google.
Happy birthday for tomorrow, CCP!0 -
Happy Birthday FRITH, have a good one love, Lyn xxx.0
