5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

1. An unbelievably warm day, kneeling to pull some weeds at the front of the house with the sun on my back I could almost have believed it was early Summer.
2. Picked DD up and dropped her at work on my way to collect my vac cleaner which has had a service. They found little wrong, charged a minimal amount, and it's working much more efficiently now. Now I have one upstairs and one down, no more having to haul one up every couple of days
3. Collected scrip on the way home, the new very swish health centre has its own pharmacy which is 5 minutes from home, so much easier than having to go into the town. And I can't spend any money, there are no shops near the health centre
4. 5 birthday cards written for Nov/Dec (there are 5 more between Christmas and the middle of January, why oh why does my family not family-plan better?!), wrapped all the Advent calendars ready to send to the DGC/DGGC
5.Blood test results came back, still have to continue with vit/iron tabs but no other issues.
6. Postie brought three mugs with names on which I'd ordered for the DGGC, they all have unusual names which can't be found on the usual items so hopefully they'll be pleased with these. She also brought me a £10 L2S voucher for doing a survey which will go into someone's envelope.

Quick hello, had a busy day and I'm just about to go and have beans on toast for tea!
So ,I have an 18 year old daughter
Up at early o'clock on my day off....of course! The bin lorries were very noisy at 5am! However , lots to do and peace and quiet to get on with it.
* note to self ....do not waste time and money again and freeze cake mix...it didn't work! Mad preparation of about 60 cupcakes!
Lovely chat with friend from home.....whilst I ironed!
Birthday girl had a very long lie as she'd been at another 18th last night, happy with her gifts.
We went for brunch to our favourite cafe. They put a candle in her birthday pancakes and sang happy birthday to her. I enjoyed my BLT.
Then mad dash round aldi, then mad dash round other supermarket. Then home!
Took dog to vets for his last jags, one more week and he can go out and about...something to look forward to. Saw a different vet, who was very nice. She was expecting a little Scottie dog when she'd seen the name Haggis on her list and then heard us speak....ah! Now I understand!
When I came out I had a chat with another customer who had 2 ,2 week old kittens.they were toty, about 11 years ago I fostered a 2 week old kitten for 6 weeks , so we had a nice blether. Sad story about the rest of the litter ( 5 PTS and 1 died ) they had been abandoned. Hopefully these two stand a chance with a bit of love and care.
We sat in garden and and had some cake , an RTC shop bought birthday cake! Main cake for tomorrow!
Back inside and iced pumpkin cake. Filled meringues, made banoffi pies, mixed cupcakes, started to set up table for tomorrow.
Now going to have my beans, watch some Corrie and head to bed....up for work in the morning! Yikes!
Have a good one!0 -
Its Friday and no work.
Mine for yesterday are
1. Heating came on and so I cancelled engineer and saved money and its warm. The house had been damp as heating went off as I cleaned the carpets.
2. Lunch was lovely- cauliflower cheese.
3. Picked DS1 up from station and had free coffee from W8rose and just bought food I needed ie bread and milk.
4. Went to the pub for a drink.0 -
Pleasures for yesterday:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Cleaned the bathroom. Hadn't given it a massive clean since it was installed (since it annoys me looking at it!) but cleaned some of the grout and sealant off the ceiling/floor/door and it does look a bit better for it. Cleaned the kitchen floor/stairs/landing too.
3) Took a library book back and some stuff to the charity shop.
4) Took dad's birthday present and it seems he is pleased with the family tree. I also printed some photographs out of his relations and mum's and I think mum has stopped crying now. :-/ Her parents died within days of each other in the 70s and we are not allowed to talk about them. It didn't seem right though to do lots of photos of dad's family to take to the joint 70th birthday, but none of hers. (She won't be taking her photos, apparently).
5) Sons cycled to mum and dad's. All I did after they were gone was put the oven on and get everything together but they got there before me! Managed to take both bikes back on the bike rack (which I hate, wobbly thing held on with string!)
6) Jacket potatoes for tea.
7) Smaller son made cornflake cakes.
8) Watched I'm a Celebrity.
Having a bit of a nervous day here as smaller son's friend is supposed to be coming here. I'm picking them both up from a founder's day service. Smaller son has said under no circumstances is he having a friend round here so we shall see how that goes. Friend's dad is coming to collect him at 6.30 which may be not a moment too soon!0 -
DfV: Your post makes me smile.
It’s been an emotional week hence a lack of posts due to lack of time mainly. Our cat was taken suddenly very ill and still is, and the “person at work” reached new levels of truly nasty b$%%^d, I do genuinely think there is something “not right” about him.
A mix
1. I have had an interview come through for the job of my dreams, well one of them, it’s not for a little while yet and I am daftly excited.
2. The animals just know how to either go loopy and make you smile or curl up on me and warm me up.
3. Pasta bake tonight and just put the heating on as its daftly cold here.
4. Still marvelling at the power of the web, I researched and researched some more then found it on sale, grabbed it and it’s on its way even thou I am used to it I am occasionally in awe of how far technology has come since my dad’s time. I was sitting with him last night looking up a charity shop find on my phone and he just couldn’t get his head around it.
5. Some fascinating programmes on at the moment about discovering British places.
6. DH is talking about getting a “fleece” duvet cover as the fleece under sheet is so nice on the mattress, it will tip me into hibernation mode thou.
For Today
1. It’s my birthday and I have been truly spoiled he he, I’m a bit of a kid when it comes to celebrations so I am loving it.
2. Lots of good food and a big sparkly chocolate cake
3. One for later, I’m being taken out tonight for a tipple and Cantonese buffet meal.
4. Loved being helped to open gifts by the animals they enjoyed the wrapping just as much.
5. Easily covered in the above, but could also be I’m working from home today.0 -

Brewery!
I nose is Friday and that will be all for now folks!
5 Visited Jobsworth Centre this mourning, and fortunately a client of ten plus years and moor was ruefully appreciated for their attendance. Not their fault I am afraid, but the system of, wait for it curse you know what's coming. Yes, a failure of the education system, mumbled away about nothing. No worries pal!
4 How many people just sit and sign what is plaiced in front of them without question. WEe gets to the 90mminute bit and woaw, hang on, please explain as to the means by this 90 minutes! Sits, and some time loater, but less than 90 minutes, explanation came. Continue. Hard Bar Gun Inn.
3 Educational failure by this stage slumped near computer. Don't think it had games on it! Sits, smerks. Move on. Oh yes, gots to get on the web of government intrigue, but thirst, question on ethnic origin comes up. Standard answer. Non Disclosure. Am I a refugee, What? YeahayHay, from the emporiums of wobbleades! Suppose if I said yes, help would be not afforded to ... And the Jobscream part of the gov'ment site! Cannot register as BoPsie has with the email account. Oh flocking eels! That is good is not it. Hope no one gets my medical records, not secure then!
2 Nite is live Scrabble and please remember that BoPsie is only one win away now, from the chance of two wins on the pounce. Last week she rode me shodden with an immediate 7 letter word. This week, it will be differingly.
1 Charm is getting people to nod, without giving them a reason to do so.
Sits back and plays the 2nd part of the Pink Floyd Wall track! It had two No's!0 -
