CCP - sleep's the good stuff! Free reads on the Kindle can vary, but that's part of the fun! LO beef curry sounds wonderful.
Supersaver - school do with alcohol? Gosh how I wish ours would...! Well done staying under budget. Family cooking - so long as they wash up too, it's a real treat.
Giddynmg - a cuppa *&* a £60 refund? Splendid! Making treats for your staff? <Wistful sigh> Boxed as well...
Purple kitten - well done on strategic shopping, hurrah on discount ferret food & well done going to B&M First - cost us a bundle getting that wrong! Glad to find someone else with my respectful aversion to tip runs. The potato salad & fresh herbs sounds utterly delicious!
Frith - thunder like wheelie buns? We had a few bits of furniture shifted & rain in abundance... Venison burgers? (Thegn looks wistful - venison is his high treat!)
BoP - I think youngest was thinking of the *shape* of mushroom & jellyfish. (Hope, anyway.) Sticky chicken sounds glorious!
mhagster - good to hear you have both sleep & roses. Real time Wimbledon, eh? No-See-'Um flying carnivores are a hassle - I'm the family 'sweetblood' so the lads just mooch & I get munched.
VickyA - hurrah for cake club compliments & all best with website palaver!
OS pleasures
Countryfile weather forecast looking pretty hopeful. Not so much I'll leave my coat at home, though.
Supper uncertain, but I've a feeling the frying pan will play a part. [I survived! Faced down the enemy, egg & Spam mountains shovelled onto plates/into chaps mighty quick & no serious burns!]
Garden looking pretty hopeful & netting seems to be working (released a bird & blocked the gap used to get in.)
Sis booked my parents making a bobble for knitted hat for the imminent little cousin. Very sweet mental image!
Missing jar of lemon tea reappeared as soon as we got a replacement jar but Himself happy as a mutt with two tails!
It's a Monday. So far, sunny. I may need to get the Waitrose freebie in though - up late with eBay...Can I recapture the late Friday magic?! [At least at desk with coffee before heavens opened.]
The lassies come to cheer their heroes are awaiting Soccer Aid - a nice bunch & not truanting like the 1D lot.
A coxed four hurtling downriver with very little noise for the effort. Lovely to watch!
Big hugs to all who need them, umbrellas likewise & all courage with Mondays...0 -
Morning, a quick check in as I have to go to a meeting I'd forgotten about
CCP - you sound like you are feeling better. I do hope so
Pleasures over the weekend
DS won player's player of the year at his footie awards :T
Friends came back for a drink after the footie awards. Lovely to catch up with them
Went to the Seasalt outlet shop near us and spent too much money.. But one thing was a rain coat I had been promised for Christmas a year and a half ago.
Found some "Gaelic Noir" - Amber, that I watched whilst doing the ironing
Booked our Lake Bled hotel for the summer hols :j
Went for a walk with OH yesterday and saw some parent swans with cygnets and a mummy duck with loads of fluffy ducklings
Went out for a family curry. I am still eschewing so had a fish tikka for starters, instead of my usual prawn on puri, and my favourite chicken saag, but only a spoonful of rice
Another 2lbs down and an inch off the hips :T
A wild meadow with lots of yellow in it
Right, I wish you all a happy day and I am off for morning coffee with my pally and then to a meetingI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1. Lovely family service and baptism yesterday with a little enchantress, beaming throughout, having top billing ExxRxxxMxxxxx and good to have rtn greetings and welcomes. Back to buying Vic's chicks' eggs again:-)
2. Collected post from dear near neighbour and nothing too nasty.
3. Back to Alma in arvo so Rafa could do his FANTASTIC 9TH:-)))))))))))))))))))))))
4. Hail and thunder started the a.m.[that's just Raffles chucking his non-yellow things out of the box, I now realise]before the right colour and steamy heat came through all the rest of the day, until it suddenly all piled back up in the sky[bop, were you and the Good Ladye bopsie slack errants in supplying on demand to Raffles, the Mighty?], but & pulled in the 2 loads of early-out laundry and all was well.
5. Post now digested, have spoken to Mr T's Things Awry outpost and £10 moneycard should have already come, hasn't, so another, plus another, will! Deffo. with you dfv, for a w8rs freebie today.
6. So much for my fee-free arrangement world-wide new N&P Classic Gold a/c...it ended up not working for me in NZ and I incurred over £80 in Natwest w/d fees!!! Insult added to injury, one of my letters speaks of a payment that couldn't be honoured, hence £15 charge, which ain't so, because there aren't any TO be honoured, just my revolving-door £500 mthly, which duly went in on 19 May and hasn't revolved out again on 26 May. I can see where it has gone wrong, but will have to go in and show them.

1. Sunshine
2. DD and I went to a lovely concert at the local castle (ruin) gardens, sat in the sun reading* eating YS cake - yummy for 10p each, no way would I have paid the original £1.90 each!
3. * I'm reading Theatre Shoes, anyone remember it?
4. Lovely comments from my teachers and Head today - I've got my uni tutor coming in for the big observation tomorrow - they've all said that I have nothing to worry about, and to try and ignore the observers. Bless them!
5. My lovely Le crewsetbaking sheet and roasting pan set arrived yesterday (I know, on a Sunday!) - can't wait to be in the flat and using them
They were an absolute bargain.....well, compared to the RRP.
6. Popped in to the estate agents handling the flat business, and apparently the vendor's solicitor has FINALLY sent paperwork through. Just have to wait for my solicitor to wade through it and raise any questionsHad a lovely chat with the ea's, I think they're very relieved that I'm chilled out. I've said I'd like to be in by September, fingers crossed!
7. DD did a non-verbal reasoning 11+ test whilst at the concert (yup, that's how we roll, it was her choice for me to print and take it) and passed with 89%!! I'm going to try and keep her 11+ prep low-key (remind me of that from time to time....) as she's only in Y4, but am hopeful that she will be a shoe-in for the grammar school she wants to go to.
8. Cuddles with DD.......need I say moreMy girl is the best thing in my life
xxx
9. Received £8 from Ppal for doing some surveys, hoorah!

11. I managed to get a job application in before the deadline. Here's hoping!0 -
CCP - you sound like you are feeling better. I do hope so
Thanks.I'm still not 100%, but I'm much better than I was - I like those little white tablets.
1) Lots of lovely yellow stuff all day, and the big black clouds that rolled in late afternoon don't seem to be amounting to anything.
2) Finished and sent off a job application - more for practice than for any other reason, as I'm not at all convinced I'd take the job even if they offered. :undecided Good luck with yours, Kittikins!
3) Stuffed tomato for dinner - yum.
4) Isis and her feathery ball - a daily pleasure.
5) Deciding I'm feeling too tired and run down to go out tonight, so I'll stay here and watch Isis instead.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good luck CCP and Kittikins (my girl is the best in my life too
).
VJsMUM well done for losing that two lb but I think I've found them - would you like em back

If I am being honest, other than work I’ve taken it a bit easy today.
1.We were very late to bed as called out to a search, and very early up as I had an MRI scan but right over just over an hour away with no traffic and the appt at 7am. Glad I took the pill the doctor gave me for my inherent dislike of enclosed spaces thou.:o
2.As it all took longer than planned I had booked in to work at home and I did.:)
3.From my laptop I was also able to see the woodpecker feeding her baby which was perfect, but other than sitting here on my laptop working I haven’t done anything else.:T
4.Easy way out for food tonight LO chicken into pasta bake and dump in oven.
5.Just went out to pick up some freegle bits that were better than we thought, bless him when I said it’s for toys with the ferrets he found extra big pipe and threw it in, the bits and bobs are far better than we thought, the fuzzies now have a lot of pipes and we now have an air con extractor, I sent a photo of the ferrets playing in them to say thank you.
6. DH walked in chuffed to bits having raided the wickes sale for something he’s been keeping an eye out for, for about a year now.:)
7. I’m not sure this is a pleasure but I am watching a programme that is making me feel grateful for what we have
The rest of this evening probably far more laziness, must kick bum into gear tomorrow, I blame the doctors “chill pill” I’ve never had one before and it certainly made me feel like I’m not moving from the sofa for at least 7 hours and there is nothing anyone can do about it lol…:rotfl:0 -
Please can i join?
1. My son told his teacher his favourite thing he did over the weekend was play games with me
2. My strawberrys from saturday were still fresh so we had them for tea - i love em
3. There are lots of old comedies on the drama channel for me to watch in my pjs
4. A friend text me this evening - its nice to know someone was rhinking about me
5. Im just going to tuck into jam on toast for supper0 -

going_nowhere_fast - welcome and could your son be in my class, please?
kittikins - fingers remain firmly crossed for you!
Another interesting day at school in more ways than one! However, I live for another day.
So, my pleasures:
1) DH's birthday. Took him out for a meal tonight and managed to get a 25% off for our next visit. Restaurant is within walking distance of our house!
2) Word problems for my multiplication lesson tomorrow. One child has an 8-week old sibling, so we used them to work out how many days since the baby was born!
3) Pudding for tonight was a slice of my divine Chocolate Mousse Cake. Yum!
4) Eyeing up an offer on Groupon for a restaurant we visited last year. If it's still on offer tomorrow, then I'll purchase it!
5) is not a pleasure. Desperately sad to hear about Rik Mayall's death.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
