  • Let’s get ready to Mingle

Porage, and made from proper oats via Alford Mill. Milled, organic and better than the sawdust others proffer. It puts lead in BoP’s pencil. Weather report. Salt mine yard is puddled. So if yous has holiday booked, tuff. Not old fashioned, but if you want the sun, 28th is the week. Got it?

Now watts bin appnin with the BoPettes in the parish news. Cheese, by the looks at it loads of cheese, and bacon and beans on toast. Now did you nose that beans on toast were introduced as the thirst man’s ready meal by in the 20’s. Now yous know. Oh, and poor Mhags, stood on her head, and the nights being dark. Do a Sparra and fly home!

5 Is a big BoP day today, and as BoP has not quite there yet, and is case he should keel over, not the time yet for champagne corks.

4 So no popping yet. You see BoP as to be careful in case Jenny kicks off. But it will be around when the big hand reaches twelve and the little hand reaches 4.

3 Last night BoPsie did me some crumpet, and of course I am rather partial to being buttered up all over. No, not like that, but with added marmite!

2 nite I think I going to whisk something up. Butterscotch, aye I suspect all yous educationalists will murmer and lick lips at the school dinners, packet mousse! Made of curse with fresh milk.

Frith - brilliant to hear operation brought forward & that bigger son has been in & out again (splendid example!) Hurrah for poppies on memorial & huge grin at smaller son's Absolute Clarity.
supersaver - they're nice herbs just to look at as well as champion in spag bol. Lemon cakes with cream - my diet requires I just imagine how good they taste but I have a good imagination!
CCP - right with your colleague on Hobnobs. Have fun testing the limits of this new travelcard!
VickyA - well done on arranging a bit of cossetting & they're only squalking with shock. It will wear off! Very well done teaching swimming & all survivors an extra bonus!
Giddynmg - glad life is going well & hurrah for tablet *and* day off!
Purple kitten - thank you for the reminder - will suggest to sons they crack on with suet for birdfeeder (husband wants birds to focus on insects, son wants to lie on bed & watch birds...) Right with you Hurrah Monday done!
DD - blanket done? Stash must be pretty solidly reduced thereby, unless you have a SABLE (StAsh Beyond Life Expectancy)?! Any chance of a photo, please?!
mhagster - in another 20 days or so we'll be on the getting darker bit. Iron Bru! (My go to bribe for eldest teen - he adores the stuff!) "stunning orthopaedic sandals" - I had thought this was an oxymnoron, but maybe you get what you pay for? (As well as blue tape & cinema tickets!)
BoP - the five sailed wonder sorts your porridge?! They do spelt too - there's serious feeding in a loaf. Marmite crumpets, eh?

    OS Pleasures since yesterday!
Just seen viper vs mountain (Game of Thones) - we howled with laughter at the response to Lysa, and went eek together at the denouement of the battle...

My herb sickle is now cleaned up, from rusty & dusty to bright & sharp. Husband has sketched out the correct mask for it & I think I'm up for some heavy duty sewing. [Not so - husband sat up & stitched as I slept! Beautiful job from a lovely man.] (Just the right tool for cropping considered amounts of oregano or thyme without risking uprooting things!)

GoT *the* watercooler topic - so "no spoilers!" pleas up & down the office. Along with 'Penny Dreadful' - which strikes me as a winning pseudonym...

Colleague singing Bonnie Tyler "Total Eclipse" absently to herself - she only knows one line & some tune but it's a pleasant background noise!

Ah, the cardio shock of the fire alarm test. I keep forgetting & being almost bounced out of my chair every Tuesday.

Big hugs to all who need them, pleasant surprises wherever possible & why should only the condemned get a hearty breakfast?

What a day! Here are my pleasures:

    1) Bigger son dropped off to school OK.

    2) Put up bean sticks in the allotment, with help from man on next plot.

    3) Smaller son's pre-op appointment. He decided he didn't want one :-/ so it took half an hour of bribery to get him in there.

    4) Smaller son's afternoon in the new school. He didn't want to be there either, or look round their lovely autism base or say hello to the other nice children.

    5) Just cleaned the floor/skirting boards of my bedroom which get done not nearly enough.

    6) Holby City later.

    My pleasures are:

    1. Reading what others have written - very warm indeed (and its not just my hot flushes!)
    2. Worrying about my impending job change (I am a worrier) but then reading someone's post that says 'if you take a risk and win you'll be happy, lose you'll be wise'. Got to go for it and stop worrying.
    3. Feeling ever more relaxed with every day.
    4. Making good steps with my money saving
    5. DD is growing ever more confident - its great to see

    Good evening everyone! :hello:

Totally exhausted today so I'm not sure whether this post will be fully coherent!

    My pleasures:

    1) Walking along the reservoir down to the nature reserve and osprey hide. Fantastic! The class loved it and it was SO well organised!

    2) 7 mile walk during the school day. I think all children and adults will sleep tonight!

    3) Bath which will be run shortly for me to rest my weary legs. Normally, 7 miles is fine but try doing it with 20 children in tow. :rotfl:

    4) Clean sheets on the bed. So, so divine!

    5) Cups of tea. Never underestimate the effect of a good cuppa!

Dfv: I love the singing away, when I can I tend to put just an earpiece in to concentrate and try to make sure I don't sing out loud and I suspect I end up "tapping" the desk instead.
1.I forgot I was getting in from work then out to a meeting, I had disappeared to the greenhouse and had started “tinkering”:p about making room to plant out the rather large over grown tomato plants, dh came and got me.:p
    2. I couldn’t help but look up how to look after cockatiels,:o I just truly adored the rescue at mil’s as much as I would love it, judging by the dust they give off I would probably be allergic after a while dam. It was gorgeous.
    3. Got the weed killer on the front lawn, it’s phaffy it couldn’t wet but couldn’t be sunshine either but preferably with showers in the next day blah blah, put in on it takes its luck now.:rotfl:
Banking 4&5 as aching a tad and they aren’t springing to mind.

Hello all. Sable dfv love it. Could even be stable. I have to admit there does still be rather a lot unknitted! But dd1 has already put her order in! So here goes. One photo (have failed dismally at loading it as an image)

    1) survived a gruelling day of meetings at 11; 1; 2; 3. 11am bought a fisher and donaldson fudge donut for us to share. Sooooo good :P
    2) really nice email from it director. I had a bit of a grumble on saturday when i'd gone in specially to finish my chapter and couldnt get the software to work
    3) not walking between buildings when skies emptied. Something very nice about being in the warm and dry when it chucks it doon
    4) xoh came to pick me up. (We'll skim over the £600 service plus new tyres bill she'd just paid before picking me up)
    5) glorious warm yellow thing shining away when i walked the dogs
    6) had a lovely evening with dd2 and ds. Ds has just 'aced' (his word) his 2nd year maths exams. Scraped physics so into 3rd year with no resits :T

Ooh haven't posted since Saturday, really must do better

    frith, great news re op
DforV I think I am the only one who doesn't watch game of thrones

    For the weekend

    Long chat with old school,friend.
    More chores done, largely gardening
Walked into town with Wally trolley full of stuff for the chazzer. No white stuff tops for me though
    Had a bake fest
    Warm sunshine
    Barbecue

    For yesterday

1 DD had first exam - only general studies. Her group of friends had a comunal dare, where they each had to get various references into their answer. Someone got food, someone travel etc. DD got fandom references. Reckons she got in 10, some Harry Potter, some Star Trek etc. I should disapprove, but secretly I think it's really funny and very clever of them
2 lunch with friends, except I was on a fast day and emaness didn't have any soup on. So I just had coffee
3 but it meant I could come home and eat homemade soup, so more bang for my buck
4 stir fry for tea, with zero noodles  not hungry but goodness they bloat.
    I will save 5

    And today

1 walk to station, total of 70 minutes walking today
2 got paid for Korea :T
3 feta and olive salad for lunch and fish wrapped in prociutto sor tea. With Chips :D
4 the end of Happy Valley - and breathe :p

    Night all

Edit - DD fab blanket. Really great
I wanna be in the room where it happens
