Quick pleasures today as it's getting late:

    1) A lie in!

    2) Printed out the wedding geocache details to go in sister and brother-in-law's wedding card.

    3) Popped in to the village hall to see how the decorations were looking.

    4) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    5) Had a confrontation with MrN. Not as bad as it sounds but I hate standing up for myself and telling people off. I looked out of my window this morning and 2 people were in my garden, taking part of MrN's fence down. Bit cheeky not to ask if that was OK, I thought. Then we went out for an hour or so. Came back to find fence 40cm further into my garden that it should be!! The gap between the brick shed and MrN's fence should be 125cm. Just leaves room to get past and through the gate (rarely used, leading to septic tank). Now the gap is only 80cm (!) and the gate is just swinging about because it can't open fully and its little gate post to latch against has disappeared! (Also the new fence looks like lots of bits of pallet wood tacked together, but that can't be helped).

So I texted MrN - no reply. I imagined him deleting my text in a temper or having a good laugh about it with new MrsN. Eventually I saw him fiddling around with his new gate and asked if he had got my text - no. So we had a little trip down my garden and I said there had been 30-40cm of soil down the side of the slabs - the new fence is now OVER my slabs! Also showed him my gate now looking sad.

He did say something about we should work out where the boundary SHOULD be (not sure how I am supposed to prove that as the deed plan hardly shows to the last cm). But he agreed it is not right and the people are coming back in a week or 2 to move it. I suppose he has to agree really, or I could go to the council and he would not want a dispute hanging over him while his house is on the market.

    6) Smaller son cleaned both their pairs of shoes.

    7) Went to bingo in the next village and I won some coffee (can't stand coffee but bigger son likes it) and smaller son won some Cadburys mini rolls. :-) Bigger son was sitting opposite us next to a very scary looking lady who didn't smile at all. Until smaller son said "Tell bigger son to stop smiling at me!" in typical brother fashion.

    8) Looking forward to tomorrow. My mum, sister and brother in law all have bad colds!

    9) In bed now and will watch HIGNFY.

Frith, as you have nothing more pressing than WOTY to occupy you:p, think about pics you have that indicate CORRECT fence line.
Perhaps there are others, taken when you've shown us Charlotte and Barry etc?
Take others now, showing the land grab.
'In a week or two' isn't good enough.
That sort of language indicates strongly to me that he knows you'll quail before insisting and pushing for matters to be put right.
Also, it will be much harder to remedy if a new owner believes this encroachment represents their boundary truthfully.
You must also say[send it as a quick dated document], [a]no further trespass all that was removed[little gatepost and latch]to be returned or replaced to your satisfaction or recompensed.
It's the same law as governs prunings of overhanging trees and bushes. They must be returned.

Can't we all hear dear chicken saying exactly the same thing?

Please don't let this drift. Don't catch colds either - any of you!

sparrer - he is fantastic, even better than I envisaged. Definite covetousness now, the day after the children went up, writing on card 'the bad things Jesus helps us get rid of' and nailing them onto the waiting Cross......

Another of &'s fury heads-ups here:
    http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/apr/18/hmrc-to-sell-taxpayers-data
-but this is even worse than the medical data harvest, with no opt-out option either!

This is completely and utterly wrong.

&'s looking for an online petition, but in the meantime, there's this Grauniad commentL

So Saturday Schmaturday , not my usual day to work but bumphergums had it off, so in I went and the time passed quick enough I suppose but we were very busy. DD2 worked with us and more than earned her pay! Wee soul, getting called in all directions today!

We had a nice drive home.

OH and I went out for late lunch/ early dinner ...or breakfast in my case!
Nice meal but far too much on the plates.

Did some long standing paperwork that has been sat on my desk for a couple of weeks....much procrastination for that! But it's done and will be posted on Tuesday once the PO is open again.

I have shut all the curtains and blinds in the house, it is so chilly but put a jumper on. Was tempted to put heating on but shall resist for now.

    Have a good day :)

SS1000 - best of luck with the application! I agree with you about bumble bees - great things, and certainly better than the hornets I often get in my garden!

Frith - hope that fence gets put back where it belongs asap.

    1) Woke up early this morning with another stupid anxiety attack (the first I've had in over a week, though, so I am getting better) - just as I was about to give up and get up to watch the grand prix qualifying, I fell asleep again and didn't wake up until nearly lunchtime! :o

    2) When I finally woke up I was in holiday mood, so I wandered down to a pub on the common and treated myself to a HM burger and a couple of pints of beer while watching the re-play of the qualifying session.

    3) Got home to find that my competition prize shoes had been delivered to a neighbour while I was out, although that's also an annoyance as I'd asked the courier to deliver on Tuesday so my neighbours wouldn't have to play at parcel caretakers.

    4) All caught up on the comps, although that won't last long, I'm sure!

    5) Not very OS of me, but I decided I was fed up with shivering and put the CH on for a little while. I really do hate being cold! :(
Back after a very long break!
  • sparrer - I may have to actually do the lottery if OH keeps this up! He is hopeless:(
& - I have fudge brownies but I don't do vin, alcohol and me don't play well togther!
supersaver - best of luck xx
    Right...
    1. 44 rows of poatoes planted oh my!!!
    2. DS was my planter mate :D and he made me smile ALL day:D
    3. Talked to OH about why I was mad at him!
    4. Jones the steam came over and tractor drove for me:)
    5. Chips for tea!!
Much better mood today as finally got something planted and spent a whole pound all day!
    Have fun egg munching xx
