Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning all.

I'll start with some sad news - my sister won't be home for Christmas after all. :( Hopefully she will be out very soon afterwards, though, so she can at least enjoy new year at home with her partner.

An early pleasure for today: waking up to the sound of the hovercraft trundling off across the Solent (I live a good couple of miles away from the terminal but it's amazing how far the sound travels!), which is a pleasure because it means the service is running and I can get home for Christmas. :j:j:j

Another pleasure - the rain has stopped both indoors and out, although I have left a bowl for the pet sitter to put under the worst of the leaks if it should start again while I'm away.

I will try to pop on to the forum over the next couple of days but, in case I don't manage it, have a great Christmas, everyone. :)
Back after a very long break!
  • The sprouts will never be ready! Note, in BoP Palace, there is no sprouts. I know, I hear your cries, but I put them back on the shelf. Please, no telling Ms BoP now.

The social media mob has distracted the new truth. In our rage for correcting the past, singling one person out, has not exonerated others.

& was too young to see, but these type of programmes have been replaced by guilt types nowadays. Where celebrities’ are mocked for weeks on end, only to see the entrails of some goldfish entertainment, while fleecing the public into extracting monies in vain.

New Year schedule for the BBC. 7 pm. Nonbretity show. 7L30 show about fictional events in a London district. Entails lots of alcohol abuse. 8 Pm Celebrity cooking programme. BBC 2. 7 pm. Back stage of next Celebrity DIY programme, from BBC1 Saturday. 8 pm. A repeat of a 70’s comedy programme. Dave Allen and NTNON excluded 8:30 Antiques Programme.

Now five tips to see you through the chrimbo period.

5 If you want to use a train, forget it. Invest in a driving licence and get a car. That way, you will find it easier at Easter

4 Don’t stand in a queue for 45 minutes buying prefabricated shortbread, when you could had stayed at home and done the best ever instead in that time, and got a cup of tea as well. And you could do the mince pies as well!

3 Stop. It is HM Herself!

2 Had too much. And nobody ever wants the pudding. Try instead of serving the pudding at around 6 pm. That way you can flame it in the dark.

1 And do not forget the cat.

Oh, and Santa. Train Set Please!

TV used to shock and reflect. Today it panders the celeb, and patronises the needy

Some more pleasures.....I'm on my holidays so there's lots of them!

Baking with a little person today..."..mhagster youre so strong! " because I was beating the cake mix by hand ...with vigour! We made cupcakes , topped with butter icing and special Australian Christmas cake toppers I had brought with us. Banana and cinnamon muffins and choc chip cookies. Some for us, some for her and the rest are for Santa tonight.

The most amazing bacon rolls for breakfast.

Went to hospital with mum for an appointment .it was absolutely wild , so windy and a different sound to my Australian wind....it whips through the eucalyptus trees and rustles whereas here it hoos and whoos around the cottage.

Then we popped up to oldest friends , just like we'd never been away.

Then popped in to Mr T, lots of yellow stickers! Plums for 25p, nectarines for 50p, a haggis! , party food for 50p...now in my freezer until Friday night( friends coming over) , Rosemary for 20p for my roasties tomorrow and 2 fresh cream apple turnovers for 20p...quite pleased with my haul. Also met a few people I knew so that was nice!

Home to my cosy cottage and we are in for the night!

    1. DD wrapped up a carrot and we took it over to her sponsored donkey at the sanctuary. Lots of Christmas cuddles with the donkeys :)

    2. DD's very excited, and making me so too!

    3. I beat mummykins at gin rummy for the first time ever :) She repaid the compliment by beating me at Monopoly, lol.

    4. DD and mummykins making the sherry trifle, bring it on. It's the food I look forward to all year, you can keep your Christmas pud and I don't eat meat, but yummy mummykin's boozy trifle (no custard of course!) is to die for :)

    5. Silly DD has asked me to wrap up the packet of vests I bought her this afternoon, and give them as a present. She's crazy, but I love her :)

    6. Not a pleasure for me...but DD's other parent has got off his backside and sent.........a card........woo hoo. Anyway, I'll give it to her tomorrow morning when we're on our own and hope that it pleases her, and doesn't say anything stupid.....

    7. Another chum has emailed me, hopefully we'll meet up soon, when we go down to Brighton :)

    1. Reading all your posts. I've not been too good at responding just recently but thank you for all the updates, I do read them and take note of how everyone and their families are doing.

    1. Kind lady in our little Mr M packing my bit of shopping for me. I said I was sure only the brave and the foolish go out on Christmas Eve, she assured me I was one of the former ;)
    2. The man who suggested I don't park in any of the disabled bays, he pointed up to the roof where the tiles were all blown upwards into a standing position and looked as if they'd crash down any moment.
    3. The dustbin men came a day early, my DNeighbour took my bin out but knocked a big ceramic pot of daffies and crocuses over and broke the pot. They were just coming through but she managed to find a similar sized pot in her shed and repot them as best as she could - I'm sure they'll recover. She also repaired my gate while she was there, I've asked the HA to do it for months and have to tie it with string, she's made a temp repair so it's easier to use now :)
    4. I have nothing to do! So feet up, some biscuits, smelly cheese and coarse pate for a late tea
    5. Carols from Kings which is on now.

Have a Very Happy Christmas, may it bring you all you wish for and more :)

oh, and BoP, Master of The Change of Names - if you've nothing better to do you must think of an alias for all of us but not say who is who so we can guess who you think we are! ;)
