  • Good evening all !

    mhagster- welcome back !

    VJsmum - enjoy your weekend

PK - you get ar*eholes all over the world ,rude and ill mannered people who think they are far more important than anyone else.

    CCP - oooh H.O.T.Y.show?

    5 for yesterday

    1. Took OGV in for service - got the usual phone call from the GV place.. "did you know it was due for x, y, z ?" Oh and that will be £2k - yeah right. £20 to change number plate bulbs - er no purchased from Half*rds for £2.99 . No brainer

    2. Saw an ex of 20 years ago whilst coming out of Half*rds with OH.I pretended that I did not see him but he was just staring and staring . Gave me the creeps I expect he will tell my brother that he saw me as they are still friends. Last time he accused me of taking ecstasy and told my brother ! Cheeky s*d.

3.Terrier here for the night as DM out early.

4.Jacket P's for tea nice and simple.

    5. Lovely day here.

    5 for today

    1.Lazy day

    2. Wrapped up some presents but the terrier kept dropping her tennis ball on the proceedings which did not help.A few more rips in paper than ususal as I don't have feeling in my left hand its like wrapping with boxing gloves on which doesn't make for pretty looking presents anyhow.:o

    3. Raining here all day , glad to be here in the warm and dry doing chuff all :D

4.OH's friend here - he is hilarious.

    5. Rtc tandoori chicken for tea.

After trying to persuade my husband over the years to clear the loft I made a date with him the other day to start the job today.

I went up there (never been in the loft before in the 35 years we've lived here) to give guidance and moral support along with practical help. He is borderline hoarder but to his credit he has chucked out loads already. He had filled the car with off cuts of wood and gone to the dump with them.

More stuff has gone in the few hours we spent today than in the few years prior to this.

We will continue tomorrow, I am so pleased.

    CCP - oooh H.O.T.Y.show?

No, it's the Olympia Christmas Horse Show - I think H.O.Y.S is a bit earlier in the year. H.O.Y.S is on my equine to-do list, though!

    1) Slept in late this morning, with less pestering than usual from Isis as she's still pointedly ignoring me (partly due to continued sulking, but partly due to her dislike of the howling winds around the flat, I think :undecided).

    2) Found a suitable button in my button box so I didn't need to trek into town in the current extremely unpleasant weather.

    3) Finished off my essay, and did about half of the textual analysis before I decided I couldn't take any more. :o

    4) Watched some of the Olympia horse show on television - showjumping is much more absorbing without pesky kids running up and down the stairs next to you! ;)

    5) I'm going to treat myself to a takeaway tonight, although with a feeling of mild guilt at dragging the delivery driver out into the rain and wind. :o
Back after a very long break!

    5) now watching jodie down the rabbit hole. Dd2 is filling us in on who's who and the back story as it's the xmas special of a series. Really enjoying it but then again i lerv alice in wonderland

    Evening all!

I wrote a post yesterday, but it disappeared before I could submit it. :( At least you all got a day off from me. :D

Thank goodness it's the end of term. I was dead on my feet by the end of yesterday, but still needed to get out of bed as today we went to see Christmas at Chatsworth. Not OS in price, but we met up with a friend so good to see her and we went for a walk with her having been in the house.

So, my 5 OS pleasures for the past couple of days:

    1) Managed to get round Mr T's last night without too much trolley-rage. However, I'm always amazed at how some people dawdle their way around. Don't they want to get out of there as soon as possible?!

    2) Cracked open a box of Heroes, given to me by a child in my class. DH has just about polished them off, with a teensy :o bit of help from me. ;)

    3) Lunch today was at a pub, paid for by my friend. Very kind of her to treat us!

    4) 2 x £2 coins potted. At this rate, I'll be able to pay £20 in to my bank soon. :j

    5) Discovered the free voting for Strictly Come Dancing on the BBC website. And to think I was about to pick up the phone! Doh!

    6) My union renewal has just come through. Great expense, but really great to have the peace of mind. Also a discount brochure with it, showing how to save on some every day spending. I'm investigating it further!!!

Right, on with the rest of the Strictly final!
    Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared

Evening all. Merry Midwinter and Happy Solstice :)

    Five pleasures for Saturday:

    1. Went online to sort out my vegbox order for Tuesday (the deadline hadn't passed, phew!) and discovered that I had two £5 vouchers to be applied - one off fish and one I could use on store cupboard stuff if I spent £10 on each (so my, already ordered, Xmas smoked salmon was half price) and I bought a tenner's worth of organic jars of useful stuff for a fiver. :D

    2. Wrapped DSs' Xmas pressies.

    3. Walked through W8rz just to pick up my free coffee. :)

    4. Listening to the News Quiz. Hadn't heard it in a while.

    5. Stuffed courgettes for supper using up last night's pasta sauce. I love this particular meal.

The year has turned, the days are getting longer, summer is on it's way! :j

    Sweet dreams.

    2. Watching my tall eucalyptus toss and sway in the wind. Seems no time since I stuck it in as a twig.

    3. Found a marvellous write-up of Tim's Koko performance on angryfeet - it's the post by pianofortekristina » Fri Dec 20, 2013 10:11 am, here:

    5. hwb shortly, reading, listening. Realise that the >4hours of stormy London night walking post-Tim were miles and miles and miles.

    6. Letter rescheduling mini-chop for 16 Jan has come quickly. Unfortunately, that's another Spits Thursday. No matter, 'twere better done.

Feeling restless again, a bit Peggy Lee-ish...'Is that all there is?' This will pass.

Chicken: Ex's are creeepy, so much time moves on and they don't seem to it really creeps me out, When Dh's ex (from 15 yrs ago) encroached onto an event we help run, it was "sad" she spent the entire time "eviling us" and being snide. But we where helping run it. pathetic.
Wow Mchags Scotland sounds wonderful and you sound so happy.
CCP: I heard about the London show it looked lovely in the photo’s I saw.
Wishing everyone a very happy Christmas, I will be lurking but I haven’t found a good way to log onto the forum from a tablet or phone it doesn’t seem to have a friendly view on a small screen:j
1.Dh is panicking for Christmas presents and I don’t see much point in battling weekend crowds, we are heading to Wales tomorrow, not known for its shops (correct me if I am wrong?) but we will take our chances and see. Any suggestions welcome.
2.Visited dad to drop of some Christmas things.
    3. We are a week later than we planned to be in the feeling festive and family visits thanks to the bug, but starting to get there now.
    4.Sitting here watching a Christmas carol classic:p

Chicken - poo to creepy exes!

Here are my pleasures briefly as I'm falling asleep.

    1) A lie in! Hoorah!

    2) Porridge for breakfast.

    3) Fruit and veg box was delivered and had chicory and fennel inside which are new ones to me (have eaten them but never cooked them myself).

    4) Went geocaching this afternoon which, although quite local, was a long way off the road and the landscape was very different including an outcrop of sandstone that bigger son climbed up.

    5) Went to the station to watch the steam trains coming and going.

    6) Fish and chips from the van for tea. Blowing a gale on the village hall car park.

    7) My school friend popped over.

    8) All watched Harry Potter.
