Never posted on this thread before but I'll give it a go
It's OS pleasures for the weekend if that's ok

    1. Went to central London on Saturday with DH and DD (2 years old), although it was very cold we had a lovely day browsing and enjoying the Christmas decorations and atmosphere. We sat down in Sloane Square on a bench(don't know the exact name of the area) where a band were playing to collect donations for The Salvation Army, and enjoyed our sandwiches (homemade) whilst listening to the brilliant music, taking in the sights around us :-) it was really lovely

    2. Managed to complete the trip without spending money on things I don't need, which would have been the norm for me before OS :j

    3. Had a lovely relaxing day at home today and enjoyed trying out my new Magimix which I bought on the amazon Black Friday deal:)

    4. Made creme brûl!e using a recipe on nigellas website which was delicious, won't bother with any other recipe in future :T

    5. Dinner was cooked by my lovely mum so didn't have to do anything today, bless her for always looking out for and trying to help me and my sister as we have children and working, she tries to help us out with little things like this to make our lives easier :)

That's it from me, hope I haven't waffled on too much
Thank you all for posting your pleasures, I have enjoyed reading them all

    Morning all, welcome skader :)

Well done Frith, what a super grotto :)

Just a quickie before I 'hit the road' - got up and uncovered the car, it was pouring with rain, not a crackle of frost in sight! A neighbour going to work called over 'I remember you did that a couple of times last winter when you had an early start and it rained in the night. We just watch when you cover it and we know not to bother to cover ours' Thanks, neighbour :rotfl: Throw and duvet cover now spinning in wm...

Have a good day, back with the other 4 later (1 is it's not so cold!) :)
  • 5 Radio Silence has begun. As I stopped watching the news at 21:33Z 1982-05-03, this status shall continue. has Apollo 13 landed yet?

4 Karma has returned, sponge cake has risen. Butter iced and Jam, seeded raspberry variet added. Kettle on. Log on fire.

3 Stange all talk of non pasying tax peoples etc. Sorry, but the xmas cards printed in chinese sweatshop, bough by over educated twits in the name of cheepness and yet some complain of Facebuck$ (Sorry Frith, I do not partake of that data server) Coffee shops etc not paying. Sorry, but those nice cheap[ trousers are the reason for this as well. Since HMS Sheffield, I have refused corned beef and French wines. Now seems derigger! toi do the same. Or as Roy said at work once. Do not buy the fairtrade bananas, as his familiy from thw Windward Isles were put out of business by these scams.

My pleasures for today so far:

    1) Had a lie in. Ooops... woken by the sound of Miss Frith the younger hammering on my door so smaller son had to get dressed in about 2 seconds flat for his lift to the bus stop. (I had turned the volume down on my phone so the alarm was ringing happily every 5 minutes but we couldn't hear it).

    2) Went swimming at 8.30 (!)

    3) Went to Ludlow with my brother and got Chrismas cards etc. (From a charity shop, BoP, Hope House to be precise so 40 Cerdyn gydag Amlenni).

    4) Lovely stall on the market so I got my lunch from the Bulgarian man. Sort of filo parcel with squash and walnuts in and a "no cook" cake.

    5) Not a pleasure in any way to get a solicitor's letter from the ex-husband (demanding I keep a note book basically of my every move to give to him each week.....) but a pleasure to email my old solicitor about it and I have to ring her tomorrow.

    6) Not as cold but the stove is going well anyway.

    7) ISIHAC later.

    8) Smaller son now in a class of 2 (they're building him up gradually). A slip in his behaviour marks today and a spell "resting" in the padded cell room but he put himself in there which is their aim. Hope he gets used to it and the second boy is pleasant.

    9) Sheepskin slippers belonging to smaller son that I bought from a charity shop for £1.25 are now on EBay and at £10.50 with 2 days to go! Madness.

    1. Did an online survey this morning and will soon have some LV and possibly a sample of the product to try :)

    2. Gained £2.50 as DD apparently lent a chum the sum at the school fete and her mum paid me back.....it was mine as I was just handing money over hand over fist that day, lol.

    3. Yummy soup with friends after helping out at the toddler group this morning.

    4. Everyone liked (or was polite) about my brick like on the outside but yummy on the inside soda bread that I made this morning

    5. Had a lovely time making up new words for Christmas carols with DD whilst cuddling in my bed this morning :)

    6. Saw a lovely doctor and hopefully have a new medicine to try. She was also great with DD, who was thrilled to try her stethoscope!

    7. Stretching of yesterday's leftovers made for a delicious dinner tonight.

    8. Perfectly ripe mango to go with the last of the chocolate cake, nomnomnom... :):)

    a few for today

    3.Curry for tea

    Evening all.

Kittikins - I wouldn't be at all surprised if your DD goes into a medical-related career one day - she sounds like she has a real interest in and talent for it.

skader - welcome to the thread, and don't worry about waffling too much - this whole thread is pleasantly waffly imo. :)

Frith - I love that grotto - I wish someone would come along and do up my bedroom like that.

    Some pleasures for today:

    1) Received one of my parcels today, thanks to a nice postman who could hear the shower running when I didn't answer the door, so came back and tried again 20 minutes later to make sure I got my delivery. :T Now I just need to find out where the other parcel has vanished to...

    2) A group of tough-looking young men walking through the city centre, merrily singing along to The Snowman theme. :rotfl:

    3) Put up the office Xmas tree. As usual, I was torn between irritability at the discrepancy between the number of people who enthuse about the annual presence of the tree and the number prepared to contribute any time or money to helping me decorate it, and the rather selfish pleasure that, as I do all the work and spend most the money, that makes it my tree, to decorate the way I want. And very nice it looks too. :xmastree:

    4) Finally got around to trying on the new boots I bought in the Amaz0n sale, and they don't fit. :( Having seen how much they generally sell for, though, I'm going to try selling them on as I should be able to offer a nice discount to the purchaser while still making a small but worthwhile profit for myself. :money:

    5) Treated myself to some of these - they're even prettier than they look in the picture, and may well end up staying all year round.

    6) Taking advantage of the M&S 20% off offer to buy myself some new underwear - not very exciting, but necessary!

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
