Was just too tired to post again last night.
It's been a really good catch-up read again this morning. Thanks everyone.
mcculloch29, I watched the iplayer piece - very enjoyable, thanks for that. Am keeping my fingers crossed that they get that first past the post!
Frith, it's great that DS2's feedback from school is not 'flash in the pan' stuff and that it's consistently coming back so positive.
Five pleasures from yesterday, will do more tonight (I hope):
1. Walking past someone's parked mobility scooter which had a skull and crossbones flag on it and a witch soft toy dangling from it.Made me smile.
2. I had a blitz of a Christmas shop yesterday and reckon I now have about half of it done.
3. Stopped late afternoon to treat myself to a coffee in the middle of town but I was also starving and couldn't work out where to get a low carb snack, since I had nothing with me. I looked at the sandwich fillings and asked the assistant if they could do me some mozzarella and tomato just by itself. She went to talk to the cook, said yes and then only charged me £2.20 for the lot! (I know it wasn't a mistake because the list price for the coffee was 50p less than that.) When the plate of food came it was big enough to be a meal for two. I couldn't eat it all and didn't need supper.:T
4. Did loads of overdue banking as well while I was in town,
5. Found some really good quality wooden clothes pegs. I need to add to our peg bag.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Belated g'day, after a dreadful night..
Having a cuppa with DNeighbour when the police called, a child at DN's DD's school has accused her of sending racist texts - eventually sorted and the blame moved firmly away from her but a very upsetting and frightening time for her.
Then DN's kitten had a terrible experience and we spent long hours sitting with him - seems he ate or picked up something which could have been lethal save for the wonderful local vet's intervention. He (kit) was bleeding from his nose/mouth, frothing and in terrible pain. He's a little better after further treatment this morning so praying hard and everything x'd for a good recovery.
ampersand the powers behind Martins throne decided to change some of the boards, splitting them into 'couples, 'singletons' (horrid word), etc, creating/placing sub boards (pets, health, TCC, funerals etc) in the most inappropriate places. T'was a riot in the making from we end users and normal service, or thereabouts, was resumed after some very heated exchanges of posts and pm's to the Faceless Ones. I don't think it would have affected anyone's comp, sounds like you had a glitch under the lid somewhere?
mcculloch pleased to hear, in the (super) report on Rummy, that UK has stayed true to coloured, rather than painted - awful American expression
Pleased I came back from the West country early, I feel for those caught up in yet more floods. Y'all down that way got your water wings ready?!
There's work to be done, back with 5 later. Have a good/dry/safe day0 -
Broomstick - is there not a Waitrose in your loop somewhere?
Those of us who have a My Waitrose card can enjoy a free hot drink daily, always with a little biccie so far pour moi:-)

sparrer, that is hideous for neighbour's puss and them. No chance that misplaced vengeance had a hand in it, is there? With your 'hound found object' experience, there's a bit of 'What's going on?' going on. Please take care.
Thanks also for explanation. Did this just float over me? Were you part of a select trial group?CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Just watched the Hoss (first programme on the BBC since the Olympic Final, good job McCCs gave the time, the start was ...). Good run that one and good luck from
5 All clear givens this morn. No more visits to teh C ward, for the Lady Black. Two years of suffering for the old gal, but all clear. Only her BoP to look after nows.

I came on here hoping for some virtual tea and sympathy, and instead get an even worse story - that poor kitten, sparrer! I really hope it's OK now.
My mog's also very unwell (albeit not as unwell as that) - he's losing blood from both ends (iykwim) and looking rather sorry for himself.I've got a v*e*t appointment at quarter to four - fingers crossed that everything's OK.
Sympathy-seeking aside:
BoP - that's great news! :j
Kittikins - hope you're feeling better about things now.
Tealady - I can't say those shoes really do it for me - they're nowhere near yellow enough for my taste!I hope you and they are very happy together.
Back after a very long break!0 -

Thanks for this. I don't have a card (don't usually shop there) and didn't realise the offer was on. I've just checked and the only branch with a cafe is quite far away - I'll pass on the tip to my sister though who lives nearby. I'll pick up a form at our little branch in town anyway.0 -
Thanks for the comments re Tango the kitten.
Ampersand, although the thought crossed our minds, we don't think it could be as the girls involved in the text incident are only 13. It was certainly not the sort of language DN's DD would use! Kit never strays far so the square, with 6 other cats, is in on alert.
Re the forums I think it was a general thing aimed at a few specific boards.
CCP no matter the illness when it's an animal it's always horrible, so I'm including you mog in prayers along with Tango. Wishing him well and do let us know how he gets on at 'that place'x

I'm fairly new to it too, broomstick and do browse if I'm walking by the little one in Cambridge, which sells take-out hot drinks. Offer is valid at these, plus in-store caf!s. Why don't you both apply online, then both have your little treat when you're visiting:-) Their mags then come free and have decent offers in them.
Well, had late call and there is a Spit.s space tomorrow: Jeremy has cancelled. Lashing rain, high wind, pitch dark - hopeless for trying to sort things but I will try. I've just raced out for 6m of B&Q bungee lackie on Ancient Person discount day,
Use as hanging rails around 3 sides. I watch and learn.
Goodnight for now to all and Get Well's to all who ail in body and spirit. Be snug, safe, dry, cuddle and stroke four-foots and two-.
sparrer - the plaintiff's family aren't 13 though and dysfunction springs not in isolation. Prayerful thoughts for all, who each need them differently.
I'll catch up on Master Frith's and Ms Mhags' continuing progress next time in.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Here are my pleasures for today so far (Wednesday already!)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Sons off to school happily.
3) Phone call from school to say the governors meeting about smaller son's exclusion will be next week. No more trying to wriggle out of it for them!
4) Finished making a fish pie. It is in the oven now and waiting for some cabbage to go with it.
5) Played lego with bigger son for an hour or so.
6) Smaller son came back after an excellent day and bearing butterfly cakes! Obviously, we have eaten them all but we did manage to save one for MrN in return for some bolognaise he gave us yesterday. :-)
7) Sons now playing in the garden (yes, it is pitch dark) with MrN's son5.
8) Everyone looking forward to going to our local Indian restaurant tomorrow for Dad's birthday dinner. It is a really well known place; you get diners in there who have travelled from Birmingham!
Re: beards.... not a big fan. Ex husband has a black beard. He's one of those blokes who is basically hair with a nose and eyes peeping out. :-/
MrB (ex OH) had a brown beard (presumably still does) and the moustache bit was silly as it grew straight outwards.0
